It's really not that hard. You just have to alt strum most. But, some sections are easier downstrummed, and that' harder to do for most people.

Don't underestimate ANBAGT and Round and Round...they have some weird strumming bullshit instead of ho/pos in some solos.
Good luck on GH:80'sH, I plan on going for the FGFC eventually

I practiced RaR's end for about 15 minutes, got it about 10 times :/.

Actually i get RaR's outro more times on exper than on hard

Ahhhh world tours not that bad! Even better on PS3 when you can get top 10 ranks on songs no fuckin problem.
Oh well back to being a trophy whore on other games then.

CiaM was the biggest bitch for me, I gave up a long time ago so I'm stuck with 29 FC's and 30 100%'s.  I was just so inconsistant at hitting the solo I figured it wasn't really worth my time. What really sucks is that I got 100% with an overstrum on my sightread. 
The last 5 FC's on GH80's for me were:
CiaM--haven't FC'd yet but you get the point/easier on expert by far
(BYH)MH--I just avoided it b/c of the ending
Holy Diver--It's a bit harder than it seems at first
ANBAGT--fast strumming sucks but eventually I got it
Electric Eye--the first part of the solo was really hard for a while, then it just sorta clicked
Good luck going for your FC's.
