I just thought of a crazy way to test if that insane whammying on psychobilly freakout's optimal last activation. Here is the star power phrase in question:

http://www.slowhero.com/gh2-ps2/expert/psychobilly.upper-bound.best.png

The activation, some say, is impossible. It looks like it requires ridiculous early whammy. Now, how about this. If one person were to whammy non stop through all the sustains while another person hit the notes, would it prove that the activation is possible or not?

Whats so hard about it? I hit it everytime using my Xplorer

jklolk. Could work I guess, but the guy hitting the notes really have to focus on not losing ticks and hit a chord as soon as the sustain ends.

Half the problem is that you have to hit every note super early, so it would still be hella hard. I guess it's worth a try, though.

Sorry, I guess it won't work, because if the whammy bar is downwards while you are playing a note, it won't be whammied as early as possible.

Still worth a try.

That would be about the best way to do it but its useless because you can't enter the score cause cheating is often look down upon in these parts.

I thought it was proved as possible just not ever done in an FC run.

wow that video is ridiculous... I kind of want to try that whammy out for myself, although I'm sure I'd have about a 0% chance of actually hitting it...

oh, and to the op, yeah that would be considered cheating, and it would still be incredibly hard, hitting the notes as early as possible...

I'm pretty sure that dho held an open offer to pay whoever proved the last activation is possible, and that video was submitted. Also, I think I remember hearing that the video is fake, and that the maker of the video had adjusted the whammy ratio or something so they could win the money from dho.

Once again, I am not 100% certain, but I think that's what happened (it was a while ago)

The video is fake. He gets star power even before he hits the last note of the phrase, which is most definitly impossible.

I know it would be considered cheating to send in a score guys, im just trying to find a way to test if its possible.

it would be cheating in single player but not in co-op. the bass player would miss all his notes in that section but they would still be allowed to submit the score.

I have hit that last SP phrase before, back when I didnt know about SH, squeezing or anything and was just going for a PF 5*. None of those runs netted me a 5*, though, but its possible.Debate it if you want, but i know i've done it.

About your idea, unless the whammyer was really precise as to when he/she started whammying and the note-hitter didnt drop ticks, its really improbable. Its possible, but you'd have to be really technical about it to really pull it off (or just be lucky like i was )

I've always wondered about this activation.

Debr's paths were so perfect. I can't seem to comprehend this one would be wrong, especially with all the scrutiny.

The problem is, you need as much early whammy as possible, but you also need to not drop ticks. It's going to take a PERFECT run on EVERY chord.

Yeah, I thought I remembered dho putting a $100 bounty on this ages ago, and someone getting it. Did it turn out to be fake? I never heard of such a development.

The guy who "got" the whammy and "won" the money from dho asked on the previous day [on SH] how to hack the engine to get whammy easier, thus it was decided to be fake.
