3/6/09

Got FCPremix, Mauvais Gascon, and TTL 5* tonight. I see what everyone means about the strumming pattern for MG, now. Really wouldn't be a horrible FC to go for if it weren't for choke city. Just 3 to go on GH3, now. I'm a long way from TWIE, but NFMH will be done very soon. I could have gotten it tonight with the other 3, but MG's chord changes crushed my knuckles and I had to give up on it. I'll get that one next, then it will be TTFAF and TWIE to go. Need a lot of work on both of those.

Well, I finally decided to go back and finish up 5-starring GHII expert career a couple nights ago. I had 7 to go: CMH, LTR, H18, BatH, RTT, PbFo, and Misirlou. I got H18 on Sunday night in about 30 minutes. Had an epic night last night and got CMH, LTR, BatH, and RTT all in about 2 hours. Of these, BatH gave me the most grief. Then tonight I got Misirlou and PbFo in about 2 hours.

I'm frickin' stoked again. I was pretty excited about El Jefe, but I think I had a more difficult time getting my log. The only real hangup I had with El Jefe was RB. I thought H18, Misirlou, PbFo, and BatH were really tough on GHII. Especially Misirlou, my God that strumming sucks!!!

Now I'm gonna go for 1,000,000 co-op on Freebird because it's the only achievement I have yet to achieve on GHII. We've scored over 990,000 on it before, but couldn't get over the top. Man, I remember seeing the achievement list for this game and thinking, "I'll never be able to come close to doing half this stuff." It's awesome to reflect back on how bad you sucked at one point.

After that, I'm going to work on Guitar God status for both games. All of my scores for both games are updated as of today except TTFAF. I now have ~350,000 on that. I haven't even played most of the bonus songs on GHII, but I'm relatively close on GH3. But then again, there's always TTFAF standing in the way on that one. I've been hung up on TTL and TWIE recently and haven't tried any of the others in a while. I think I can get FCPRemix and Marvaus Garcon pretty easy when I sit down and go for it.

Oh, and the best thing about the last couple of weeks, my second son was born on 2/20/09. Cuts into my GH time, but man is it worth it!!!

I know what your talking about when you look back on how much you use to suck. I remember back in the day when I played on easy on gh2 and i got to freebird for the first time and It was like are you REALLY REALLY REALLY SURE YOU WANNA PLAY THIS SONG? and I freaked out and I hit no and quit the game. Oh those were the days

Ha!!! I know the feeling. It took me about 3 or 4 months after 5-starring the rest of the setlist to even attempt a 5-star on Raining Blood on GH3. I passed it early on, but never played it again for a really long time. It's funny, some of these songs have reputations that precede them. And you can actually be intimidated by some of this stuff.
