When Ben gets back to the island, he'll make everything all better. |

I think the skeletons they found in the cave from season one - when they moved part of the camp to the caves - I think those bones are either Kate and Sawyer or Kate and Jack or Sawyer and the blonde chick (can't remember her name) or Jack and the blonde chick - think about it they are now stuck back in the 70s.
That isn't my final proclamation though, because I still think that they are going to get saved (from being stuck in time) when Desmond comes back to the island again (because not everyone came back like Jacob had originally said) - but we will see. What do we have like 9 more episodes in the season? This season and the next are the last and they are supposed to be 17 episodes each I read.
Getting so good though - I loved the last episode. Sawyer just gets done telling that new character (Names slip my head again) about being a father and getting over old relationships and talking about a girl (Kate) he is never going to see again - then BAM there she is - loved it. _________________

Holy fuck what an episode. By using the time travel logic of the other tv shows and movies, after what Sayid did, the universe should be imploding by now. _________________

I agree with toymachine. This show will throw twists and turns at you no matter what it takes. We're still 1.5 seasons away from the end of the show, so they must have SOMETHING up their sleeve. _________________

A lot can happen in a month's worth of LOST: one Ben dead, the other unconscious at best. But yeah, I'd be very surprised if the island is done with Ben.
Speaking of who the island is/isn't done with, anyone curious as to where/when Desmond's gonna come back into play? I've been thinking he may be able to help the time rift situation, considering what Daniel said about Desmond and him being the only one not on the island and all. |

A theory about the island and the smoke monster that came to me after I had watched today's (or yesterday's, depending where you live) episode.
You can think of the island as being a metaphorical heaven where there are a certain set of rules (biblical scriptures) and those who follow these rules will get to live on this miraculous island (heaven), but those who will break these rules (sin) will either die (go to hell) or get banished from the island (fall of man). These people who appear and disappear from time to time are "approved by the island", whose purpose is still unknown, are metaphorical angels, where Jacob, highest on hierarchy, the man who everyone follows and obeys, is an arch angel, or a God, since he's so worshipped and respected. Smoke monster's purpose is to decide who gets to live on the island and who will be killed. Eko did horrible things in his life, slayed people, sold drugs, etc. ergo he was killed by the smoke monster, unlike Ben, whom actions are "in the best interest of the island", was thereby forgiven for being loyal to the island. And this is how the smoke monster protects the island.
Any thoughts? This came to my mind randomly when I started babbling on IRC, but I'm very much looking forward to reading Vozzek69's review and analysis of Dead Is Dead on darkufo.blogspot.com later today, since he's someone who can really think outside the box. _________________

I think it still remains to be seen whether or not Ben was truly acting in the best interest of the island or whether his feud with Widmore perhaps got in the way. I'm inclined to believe that things like his assassination attempt at Penny are not exactly what the island wants. _________________

But we don't know the rules on the island ("eye for an eye"?). And since we really don't know anything about the island either it's hard to say. _________________
