I know this is an old thread but I didn't wanna start a new one >_>

I'm going to Six Flags Great Adventure this weekend. And I wanna know, am I in my right mind wanting to go on the Kingda Ka? The most intense roller coaster I've ever been on is the Rock n Roller coaster in Florida. For those of you who dont know what the Kingda Ka is check http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HN8nv4tVFuA out.

YES. DO IT.

I was hesitant to go on Kingda Ka because it is so intense, but once I rode it, there was no looking back (literally. You WON'T be able to look back while riding this coaster )

The scariest thing about Kingda Ka is not being able to picture what it's like to ride it. Yeah, you could watch a point-of-view video, but you can't imagine what it feels like until you've ridden it. It is the most intense coaster I have ever been on, and now that I have experienced it, it is a MUST-ride everytime I visit the park. Ask anyone, once you ride Kingda Ka, you will always want to ride it. No one rides Kingda Ka and says, "That wasn't for me. Never again".

For added effect, try TheThirdDay's method of screaming TROOOGGDOOORRR while accelerating. It makes it seem 9001x faster than it really is

It's right before going up, similar to how RnRCoaster launches(but obviously much more intense). Ride in the front for the best experience, or if you don't want to wait the extra time for it, the second row is pretty much just as good. The back has been getting rougher and rougher since it opened.

I concur. Its hard to imagine how something this epic can be contained by one picture. Wow.

XD

Also: this thread reminds me of Astroworld...

^went to cedar point a few years ago. Best park I've been to easily. Pretty much every roller coaster is a must ride. The wicked Twister wasn't open when i went so didn't get to ride it.

I'm going to read through this thread tomorrow in whole but holy shit ravage I want to marry you after reading that OP. I'm going to make love to you over that post. Never thought I'd find someone that interested in coasters on SH of all places.

And Kingda Ka really is that kind of ride that you can only describe as "At first I was like this but then I was like "

EDIT: Lol, just realized how old this entire thread is, maybe I won't read it after all. But I do disagree with you listing Nitro as the second best coaster there. Nitro is good floater MAYBE and the only intense part is the helix. The drop was even boring. I really only like the train design. El Toro has FAR better ejector air time (especially in the back seat of the last drop, it feels like a fucking orgasm) and you put that THIRD?

And to the poster suggesting Kingda Ka, absolutely YES. It's quite the indescribable feeling to be jerked from 0 to 128 in 3 seconds.

I hope that last sentence isn't taken out of context.

In Sweden we dont have that kind of crazy lolwut rollercoasters.

In " Gröna Lund, aka "Grönan", in Stockholm they've just built a new one, "Insane"

I haven't seen in IRL but it looks cool.

You MUST go on Kingda Ka. You have no idea how unbelievably intense it is. None of our posts even come close to doing it justice. It's just...just go on it. You'll love it.

erock wrote:

Both. Well, not actually, the drop is slower, but it's still ridiculously fast. And, of course, straight down: ninety degrees. The launch is 128 MPH ridiculousness.

Oh yeah, and about the launch: keep your head forward when it happens, or you could end up really hurting your neck.

Quite. I can't wait to get back there. I'm definitely getting a season pass this summer; I blew like two-hundred bucks on admissions last year.

DOIT. (Although that was actually on Batman, but who's counting?)

^ Buy your season pass somewhere else though. It was like $40 in SFOG last I checked, compared to GA which is a LOT more. I'm not kidding. You might have to go down to Georgia (ask the Devil to carpool ) but it's worth it to save a few bucks. OG's not a bad park, either, from what I've seen. Or hell, even buy it at SFNE; we got them there last year and they were cheap through AAA.

tl;dr JUST DON'T BUY YOUR PASSES IN NEW JERSEY.

...And after you guys scream Trogdor I'll chime in with "COMES IN THE NIIIIIIIIIIIIGHTTT!"

Hey, anyone live near SFGAm (Six Flags Great America) who would be interested in meeting over the weekend? I'm probably going on Sunday, but not sure yet. That would be awesome to meet SH people there!

Also, does anyone own NoLimits (NL) and are good at it? I LOVE it, but I have no idea how to use AHG.

I'm pretty sure 98% of people who read this are pretty sure I'm on drugs haha.

Nah, I know what NoLimits is, but I sucked at using it as much as you did. It's a weird program to get used to but you can make some pants shittingly awesome rides with it if you get good. I've seen a lot of awesome customs and a lot of real world replicas and they're very nice with that program. CoasterForce has a forum for NoLimits; you could probably ask for help there.
