|
|
Ive been focusing a lot about my improv soloing and theory lately, but i think i need to focus on my rhythm guitar too. so for discipline and for rhythm practice and for the sake of knowing some good songs, id like to learn some full songs, every part of them and get them down GREAT. any suggestions? i dont care if the solos are really hard ill skip them if i have to, thats not what im focusing on. ive been playing for 7 or so months, so you can send me challenging things, just no dream theater or stuff like that if you have good tabs thats helpful too but not necessary. |

She Sells Sanctuary, The Cult
Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, Good Charlotte
Holiday, Green Day
Come Out and Play, The Offspring
I play these songs all the time, and I'm willing to bet that you're better than me. Give 'em a shot. _________________

Frantic by Metallica is the first song I learned to play all the way through on guitar. Pretty simple, but fast. The rythem guitar on Whiplasj (also by Metallica) is simple, and once a agin, very fast. _________________

Did you try searching around a bit? This type of topic is one that has been done to death, so I believe there is already a topic on this subject. _________________

As crazy as it sounds, F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X. by Fall of Troy is actually relatively simple and fun. It is also repetitive and easy to memorize. Basket Case by Green Day is also a very easy song to learn. Just make sure you can keep track of which notes to palm mute. If you have heard the song before (and you probably have), then it shouldn't be too hard.
You probably already know this, but backing tracks are VERY useful in helping you keep the beat of the song, and the song just sounds better overall. _________________

I've been playing for about 4 months, and these are the full songs i've learned so far, i recommend all of them, cause they're fun to play and not to hard :
Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train
Tenacious D - Tribute
Deep Purple - Smoke on the water
Rush - Limelight
Green Day - American Idiot
Led Zeppelin - Rock and Roll
Deep Purple - Hush
without solos of course, i'm not very good yet.. _________________

Great stuff, pretty much always something going on on guitar and changes quite often with a pretty simple, yet awesome solo. _________________

If you're looking for something hard, I'm having some fun with playing Six by All That Remains through, also Mr Crowley, YYZ, Cemetery Gates, Crazy Train, Sultans of Swing (In descending difficulty, including solos) _________________

I go all down. It is the easiest way for me to play it. _________________

Man, I learn too many solos and too little rhythm stuff. I can play it fine, but I can't downpick for my life. I use alternate and economy on everything ><
Does make things interesting thou, having to alternate pick Unholy Confessions is certainly challenging XD
To not be off-topic almost completely - "Always With Me, Always With You" by Satch is beautiful and fun to play. _________________

You wasted a post just like you accused this guy of wasting a thread.....
I never get sick of these threads there is always something new to read, and a new suggestion, I personally will be trying out every song mentioned in this thread so far.
Coheed and cambria has guitar that is pretty easy but sounds good.
Same as the usual video game tabs like streetfighter/megaman or whatever as easy to play but are really fucking challenging at parts.
7months is vague, you can be a far better player than someone who has been playing for 2 years, depends on how much you play and if you are an experienced guitar hero player then your fingers will pwn straight off the bat. _________________

Most Pearl Jam songs are pretty easy in the rhythm section. Mostly chords, sometimes some weird voicings, almost always 4/4 or 3/4. Radiohead too, but some of their songs are harder to break down. _________________

I reccomend (sp?) Just what I needed by the Cars
Super easy, with a B.A. but easy solo. This was the first song I learned all the way through. _________________
