Kind of off topic here, but why do you guys not like the strum bar not clicking? I took the clicker out of my guitar a long time ago because it was annoying as hell. |

I love the clicky strum too, but I don't mind the Guitar Hero Arcade strumbar because it's got enough resistance to really snap back. The Stratocasters I've used (and the one I owned) were hard to get used to because their strum bars were loose and wobbly; but on this one I was able to get a score that was comparable to my best on Knights of Cydonia, even though I bombed the HOPO section. =P
Man, now I want to play GH:AC again...or GH3...hmm

I played one in a movie theater close to me...
The first song I tried was Jukebox Hero. I never did the song before, so moving on..
Then I tried CoP. The HO/POs section and riff of personality sections almost felt like home. The timing was awful enough to fail me at the end of the solo!
Then I played Rock and Roll all Night. Again the riffs weren't bad, but what I could FC to "Ace this solo Freely", I missed 3-4 notes!
By the way, Ace this solo Freely - my fat ass! (at least on GH:Arcade) |

They had one in the cruise ship I just went on. Maybe it wasn't the same version as you guys because the one I played had some DLC mixed in with the GH3 songs. Hardest song was Surfing With The Alien (kind of a let down, but I won 20 bucks off a kid who thought I couldn't pass it). But anyways, the lag was horrible. I had to strum almost a whole second before the note came. _________________

I went to Alton Towers today (UK theme park) and there was one there! Didn't play it but it was pretty much GH3. |

Played one at an indoor mini-golf. Never again. My friend and I agreed the lag made it unplayable. We did Cliffs of Dover on PFO, and if it weren't for the PFO we would've failed on the intro--and I normally hold combo up to the alternating orange HOPOs. That said, the hardware was amazing (except for when we both went for the nonexistent whammy bar on the final note), but they need to fix the lag issue. |

Didn't think I'd have a chance to play GH on vacation, but there was one of these at an arcade in a hotel. I played No More Sorrow and Surfing with the Alien, since the Wii never got that DLC. I agree that the lack of strum bar clicking and the lag make it a lot less playable. Normally I'm sure I would've FCd No More Sorrow, but I couldn't keep the strumming beat for alt-strumming. I failed SwtA on one of the trills, but I'm sure I wouldn't have w/out the setbacks. _________________

So I went to Six Flags today and they had one so I popped in the dollar to play and it was extremely disappointing. They give you a decent mix of songs with the hardest being Surfing with the Alien, Take This Life, and For the Love of God but I thought the most fun would be Cliffs of Dover so I picked that. I started it up and have never experienced worse lag in my life. I failed in Intro Solo B and couldn't even figure out how early/late to strum by then. It was pretty frustrating and not really worth playing at all. _________________

There was one of these at a place called Fun World in Northern Georgia that I went to last week. There's a card for games, and you can play any arcade game unlimited for all day for 25 dollars, it also includes unlimited go karts and laser tag. Oh and there was a DDR Supernova machine _________________

I played it today in Chessington and when I saw it I was like "YESS!!!"
But when I started it up i FAILED surfing with the alien because the lag was so so bad and the buttons were so spaced out and weird. And I have NEVER failed it before in my life!
So yeah its fun for a couple of songs but it just turns out to be a waste of money in the end. _________________

I saw 2 more machines at a Thorpe Park (UK
Amusement Park) and one was crap and would activate SP for you. The other was okay, the lag wasn't bad enough to make me fail.
I was playing Lay Down on Expert then a group of 20 people all crowded around me and I never noticed so I nearly shat myself when I turned around. It was worth it for the prestige and the people pointing at me when I was playing something else (Pang Pang Paradise is addicting) |

I played on a couple of these at the Ocean City, MD boardwalk. The first time I tried to play, I accidentally selected the medium difficulty, because that is what the default is set on and you cant go back, 1 dollar is wasted. I tried again, and the one I played on was incredibly laggy, which even caused me to fail out on Almost Easy, another dollar wasted. But then I went to another arcade which had two of them back to back. These had no lag whatsoever, but if two people were playing it was kind of annoying.
Ultimately, it helped me kill some time and money before hitting the bars. _________________

I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. I'll just play my guitar hero at home. |
