http://uk.sonispherefestival.net/line-up/

Anyone else here going? It's 2 weeks away, and I hadnt seen any other threads on SH about it.

I cannot wait for this festival. It'l be my 2nd of the summer (was at Download about 5 weeks ago) and I can safely say this is going to be just as good, if not better, than Download.

Just wanted to know you guys thoughts on the line-up, what should be there, what shouldnt be there etc.

If any of you SH'ers are going to this, we should maybe say a hello, enjoy some awesome music together

I'm going to this, but in Hultsfred, Sweden. I'm really looking forward to Primal Scream, Lamb Of God and of course Metallica I've got a question: are The Hives coming to where you are going or are thy only playing in Sweden? I'm jutst asking cause they are a swedish band and i don't know if they are very well known in the rest of the world.. Anyway, if they are, you have to check them out. They are an amazing live band .

I'm going, this will be my second festival this summer (out of three, I'm off for a day at Leeds Festival too) and I can't wait.

The line up has always looked really good, but Machine Head pulling out has really pissed me off, I was really looking forward to seeing them.

I plan to go. Just waiting for my friend to get paid so we can book tickets (I hope there's still tickets!?).

Maybe I should set up a tent with a big "ScoreHero" sign on the side

I am really looking forward to seeing Metallica again, as I saw them at the O2 in March, and generally looking forward to being inebriated for a couple of days with some awesome metal. My friend's dad lives near the festival and is away for the weekend, so we might crash at his house, where at least I can have a decent breakfast and shower, etc., before I start all over again... but then again, maybe that goes against the whole point of a festival. Would be a lot cheaper though, on food, alcohol and tickets.

They were pretty big at one point in the UK - I think maybe around 2004? Can't remember.

I wanted to go, albeit only for NIN and Mastodon, but I couldn't really justify the price of the ticket.

Have fun, folks.

Well, if any of you guys are interested in a little hello, maybe go see some bands together, gimme a pm and i'll hand me number out

Yeah, machine head pulling out sucked big time. Especially as it was just because limp bizkit got placed higher

Most looking forward to Lamb of god, they will just destroy that place. But theres only 2 bands from the 2 main stages I'm not overjoyed at seeing, and they are taking back sunday, and killing joke. Everything else is just pure awesomeness

I'd agree with most of that, I don't mind TBS but last time I saw them live they were terrible, so not exactly a must see for me. What I'm glad about is the two main stages have staggered timings, so you can see pretty everything on both those stages. However I will have to take some time out to see Cancer Bats (and maybe a couple more) on the Bohemia stage, those guys know how to put on a damn good gig.

Yeah, I've heard great thinga about those guys. Never heard their music, but if they put on a good show, then thats just as good for me. And still 3 bands to be announced for the main stage. You guys got your tickets in? And how you getting there? I'm taking full advantage of the free coach travel and getting it from Manchester. But I live up near Aberdeen, and our journey is starting on the thursday morning ( 6:35 bus to glasgow, then 10:10 train to manchster, then staying there overnight), so yeah, itl be a hectic weekend een before we get there.

I hope its like Download, there was some good DJ's on the Thursday night when the bands weren't on. Had such a good night, listening to some proper good classic tunes

No idea, I just got an email from Sonisphere saying I was invited to the party thing. All I know is its on the Friday evening. The email mentioned RSVPing to it, so i assume it must be invite only? Apparently I get a bronze wristband too...

Ahh I see... Well I ordered my tickets ages ago, never put in any code or anything with my booking. Looking at the Soni forums, there seems to be lots of people with FMC codes in the sigs. Tbh, I cant see them being a big source of people, with over 30,000? people going, and all the delights that the campsite stuff has to offer. If I do indeed get a flag, itl be a big Scottish one with Scorehero written on it

Guys, do you know if there will be some kind of Guitar Hero Metallica tent or competition or something going on? I know they're having a GH:M comp at Bloodfest this year, and I figured seeing as GH are sponsoring Sonisphere there would be something happening.

It would be sick. Then we would definitely meet up.

No idea about this specifically, but I just thought it's worth mentioning that Guitar Hero sponsorship doesn't necessarily mean any kind of opportunity to play - they sponsored a stage at last year's Offset Festival, but the game was nowhere to be found.

That said, this is a considerably bigger event so perhaps they'll pull something together.
