Yeah, I'll support this post.
Excluding the many sequels (and unnecessary spinoffs, I mean, Railgun, really?) airing this season, Fall 2009 can currently be filtered into Letter Bee, Nyan Koi, Kampfer, Seitokai no Ichizon, The Sacred Blacksmith, Kobato, Sora no Otoshimono, Kimi ni Todoke, and Trapeze.
Now, I could simply explain why everything is shit, but instead, I'll be a bit more creative:
Nyan Koi will try to sucker you in with cats,
Kampfer will try to sucker you in with traps.
Seitokai no Ichizon's sense of humor will lead you to grief,
While The Sacred Blacksmith requires some seriously hilarious suspension of disbelief.
Sawako's expressions from Kimi ni Todoke make me smile,
and then we have Trapeze's acid trip which could be worthwhile.
Alongside Sora no Otoshimono's boobs,
and Kobato with Clamp's signature character designs resembling flailing tubes,
one must ultimately admit,
Fall 2009 is nothing but shit.
And yes, I did not mention Letter Bee,
because as of now, it means nothing to me. |

I'm watching Kampfer and Shitokai so far, because I guess I don't know any better. I'll probably start watching Kimi Ni Todoke since it's apparently good <_<
Wait, who am I kidding, I never watch anything.

I agree that this season sucks overall. All but one of series this season appealed to me (Kampfer) and I didn't make it past the 1st episode. The pacing of it was horrible. It felt like they went through 3 episodes worth of material in just that one episode. From what I read, the only good series so far involves a same sex relationship and I don't get off to those animes. _________________

... lol... w/e
Anyways, finished Baccano! Awesome shit, bottom line. I think most light novels turned into anime I tend to like a lot because the story-lines end up being pretty complex and well-thought-out, so I should look out for more of those. Besides the storyline, great action/animation/art, awesome english dub, and nice soundtrack on top of everything. |

has anyone here ever seen Black Lagoon? I just finished watching the second season, I was wondering when they were planning on coming out with the third... >_>
Well anyway it was a pretty awesome show. Very "R rated", but about as badass as they get. The dub was pretty good, actually. I'm starting to come around on the whole "dub vs. sub" thing... Naruto dub almost killed it for me, but there are some good quality dubs out there. I guess I don't mind either way... though I don't like switching in the middle of watching the show, that's for sure.
Next up for me is probably Ghost in the Shell, or maybe Claymore, since I already saw the first episode of that. Any recommendations? _________________

i rather enjoyed the black lagoon subs because of the lulzy situations that popped in the second season when we discovered that everyone was speaking english or russian or japanese or 10 other different languages. the third season wont be around for quite some time.
either of your selections are good selections, take your pick
also aggro, thats what happens when you intentionally try to start a conversation in the animu thread. i expect to not ever see it happen again _________________

I couldn't decide whether I liked Claymore because it was gripping or because I just like that type of thing. Regardless, I thoroughly enjoyed, despite the character's tendency to wax philosophical in the middle of combat. Highly recommended. Just make sure to stick around for five or so episodes until the Terasa arc shows up; it gets better an thousand times over.
Lately I've been kinda busy so I've avoided things that depress me like Grave of the Fireflies. I've still only watched half because I couldn't bring myself to finish it, despite the fact that it's a fantastic movie.
Also,
<- avatar. I love Nodame Cantabile and it's light-heartedness. That and Whisper of the Heart are the two things that I physically cannot be sad watching. _________________

Alex, I'd go with GitS. I read about half of Claymore and it didn't really do anything for me.
Watching Hidamari Sketch right now, I guess it's Lucky Star minus the dumb references? Or Lucky Star is Hidamari Sketch plus the dumb references, you know, whichever came first. Whatever, I'm enjoying it.
Auriscope: Thanks for mentioning the name of the anime in your avatar, I love the art and was going to PM you about it actually.
