All right, picks time.
Cincy over New York
Baltimore over New England
Green Bay over Arizona
Philly over Dallas
EDIT: 100 pages, is this getting locked or will the mods keep it up until the end of the season? _________________

I would prefer if this remained open until the end of the playoffs.
Great, now the NFL spans over 2 days: now I won't get any homework done |

Switching my Philly/Dallas pick, but keeping everything else.
Eagles over Cowboys
Packers over Cards
Pats over Ravens
Bengals over Jets
This is going to be the most unproductive weekend EVER _________________

My picks are exactly the same. Dammit, fUNC! haha. I think the Eagles are going to come out really solid, they have something to play for in this game. As for the second game, the Packers are just a better team. For the Pats-Ravens game ... well, the loss of Wes Welker may be a big one for the Pats, because it makes for one less big threat receiver that the Ravens have to deal with. However, I just don't see them as all that strong; Welker makes this a no-line situation in my book anyway. Bengals - Jets; well, HellAshes will hate me for this, but I just don't have any faith in the Jets to do anything. I'm watching Ochocinco in this one _________________

I dunno why everyone's picking the Eagles. To me they're CLEARLY the underdogs.
I also made the rest of my mock bracket:
NFC Wild Card:
#3 Cowboys def. #6 Eagles
#5 Packers def. #4 Cardinals
NFC Divisional:
#3 Cowboys def. #2 Vikings
#5 Packers def. #1 Saints
NFC Championship:
#3 Cowboys def. #5 Packers
AFC Wild Card:
#3 Patriots def. #6 Ravens
#5 Jets def. #4 Bengals
AFC Divisional:
#2 Chargers def. #3 Patriots
#1 Colts def. #5 Jets
AFC Championship:
#2 Chargers def. #1 Colts
Super Bowl: Chargers def. Cowboys
This postseason I'm loving the hot teams more than the teams with the better records. The Cowboys and Packers are HOT going into the postseason, while the Saints and Vikings are slumping. Meanwhile, the Chargers are WHITE hot. _________________

As long as Wade Phillips and Norv Turner are in charge, I can't put either team past the Championship Game. San Diego will get beat as soon as they find somebody that can piss off Phillip Rivers, and Dallas is just reeking with overconfidence despite having two of the most brain-dead coaches in the league. Teams like Indy and New Orleans rely heavily on the pass too, but Manning is... well, Manning, and Brees has a competent (and newly healthy) running game to back him up. _________________

You're definitely not alone. I don't see why everyone is so sure that GB is going to win. It's not like the quality of opponents they had down the stretch was all that good.
The only thing wrong with Arizona is consistency, so it really depends on which Cardinals team shows up. The one that demolishes the Vikings, or the one that gets stomped with the 49ers with Warner throwing 5 INTs.
Also something about QBs making there playoff debuts. Experience does make quite the difference, but Rodgers is a little different so who knows. _________________

I've also still never gotten what's made Norv Turner or Wade Phillips bad coaches. Maybe the "December Swoon" for Phillips, but other than that I don't see it. I would hope they don't fire him either, because Jerry Jones has already said he would plan to make Jason Garrett(off. coordinator) the coach, and that would be a disaster. Jason Garrett's a big idiot if you ask me, and I wish they'd fire HIM, not Phillips. Norv Turner's had the Chargers do really well consistently, and they're 13-3 this season! Although if they don't win the Super Bowl they'll still probably fire him. <______< *coughSchottenheimercough*
Also, not surprising, Peyton Manning wins the MVP in a landslide for his 2nd straight year. Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Philip Rivers, and Brett Favre all got votes. No love for Chris Johnson? Really? Titans would be nowhere without him...I guess their 8-8 record was why. _________________

Chris Johnson definitely should have gotten at least a mention. Guess he got overshadowed by Vince Young, even though that sounds stupid everyone was all about how Young went 8-2, even though he wasn't the real reason their season turned around. He just played better then Collins, except for that Cardinals game, I don't think he made a huge difference.
This year though Peyton Manning definitely deserves it, with Wayne, a couple of no name receivers, who actually weren't that bad, and probably one of the worse running games in the NFL, to go 14-0 is pretty impressive. (Those 2 losses were because Colts backup QB might as well be a crippled 3 year old it wouldn't make a difference). Every other QB at least has a running game people have to respect.
Although I don't know why they jsut don't change the MVP award to the "Which RB or QB has the best season on a winning team". The award is so unfair to every other position. WRs can only be as good as their QB, Defense is a team effort so it's unlikely they'll win it, and Linemen never get any love. Only 3 times has another position won the award, a DT, a LB, and a Placekicker (lol...). _________________

San Diego has the talent to have won the Super Bowl Big Game four or five times over the past few years. Same with Dallas. Their coaches are just perennial underachievers who make boneheaded calls and forget how to manage the clock (though, granted, they're not as bad as Andy Reid or Herm Edwards). Not to say that they aren't good coaches- they just have some major Achilles' Heels.
Also, Manning completely deserves the award. Chris Johnson was close, but anybody who doubts Manning's value need only look at the last two games the Colts played. _________________
