This is the first 30 songs of a "GH Classic Rock Edition" that Superspaz117, Ontwikseltsaar, Z1mb0bw4y, and I came up with. We're looking for more hard songs, so if you have any suggestions be sure to leave them!
(Don't Fear) The Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult
(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction - The Rolling Stones
25 or 6 to 4 - Chicago
Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
Breaking the Law - Judas Priest (we decided it was hard rock but not heavy enough for metal, not sure about this one)
Child in Time - Deep Purple
Crossroads - Cream
Crossroads Duel - Steve Vai (again, not sure about this)
Dude (Looks Like a Lady) - Aerosmith
Echoes - Camel
Gimme All Your Lovin - ZZ Top
Hocus Pocus - Focus
House of the Rising Sun - The Animals
Indiscipline - King Crimson
It's My Life - Bon Jovi
Layla - Derek & The Dominoes
Limelight - Rush
Lola - The Kinks
Mr. Blue Sky - Electric Light Orchestra
My Generation - The Who
No More Mr Nice Guy - Alice Cooper
Paradise City - Guns N Roses
Rocket Man - Elton John
Roundabout - Yes
Smokin' - Boston
Swingtown - Steve Miller Band
The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway - Genesis
Twilight Zone - Golden Earring
Voodoo Child [Live] - Jimi Hendrix Experience
Whiskey in the Jar - Thin Lizzy
Again, all requests are appreciated, but we're gneerally looking for more hard songs. _________________

Good list... but the Bon Jovi song is from 2000... not exactly classic rock. |

First of all, no, Judas Priest does not belong in the game. Even if they aren't metal, it just doesn't feel like they fit. I do love the band though.
What you've got is good, but there are definitely a lot that can be added. Here are some that I think you should consider:
Steely Dan - "Reelin' in the Years", "Aja", "Peg" (Reelin' in the Years is a MUST. We have like, 6 Steely Dan songs in GH/RB now, but NOT that one?)
Rush - "The Spirit of Radio" (the ORIGINAL dammit not the live version)
The Doobie Brothers - "Listen to the Music" (this one is a MUST for a classic rock game), "Long Train Runnin"
The Eagles - "Heartache Tonight"
Led Zeppelin - "Stairway to Heaven" (hey we can hope!)
REO Speedwagon - "Roll With the Changes" (a must)
Styx - "Come Sail Away"
Hocus Pocus - The LIVE version, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpV5InLw52U
Instead of Child in Time, I'd suggest Hush by Deep Purple. But that might be reserved for a GH:Smash Hits 2.
Bohemian Rhapsody just doesn't really work for a GH game. I'd substitute Stone Cold Crazy since that doesn't export and it's the most fun Queen song across all instruments IMO.
Awesome list though, let's keep adding to it. _________________

Judas Priest isn't metal? Wow, that's a new one.
Also, Hush instead of Child In Time? Really? Words cannot describe how much more fun Child In Time would be to play.

The original post I quoted said that they fit more into hard rock then metal. So what I was trying to say was, I think they're metal, but even if they're not, they don't seem to fit.
Both of them would be really fun to play, and I'm sure Hush is a lot more well known. I'm fine with both, really. _________________

I think he means it WOULD be cool in GH3, if GH3 was still supported.
Which, of course, it would be.
Also:
Fury of the Storm - Dragonforce
Why, oh why, is this not in game, any game, already?
Strike of the Ninja - Dragonforce
I see this more as a Rock Band song than Guitar Hero. It seems to set itself up for RB more than GH. I mean the ONE short solo, singing all throughout the song, and the perfect part for a BRE makes it all suitable for RB. I wouldn't miond it in either game, though. _________________

Hunh. Since I saw that GH: Genre poll, I've been making a GH: Classic Rock as well, although it turned more into a "Pre-90's rock" theme.
Stingray - The Shadows
White Rabbit - Grace Slick
The Daily Planet - Love
Fight Fire With Fire - Kansas
Europa (Earth's Cry, Heaven's Smile) - Santana
Rhianon - Fleetwood Mac
Burnin' For You - Blue Oyster Cult
Rumor Has It - Kim Mitchell
Journey to the Center of the Mind - The Amboy Dukes
Loud and Clear - Autograph
Johnny B. Goode - Chuck Berry
Holy Water - Bad Company
Twice as Hard - The Black Crows
Train, Train [LIVE] - Blackfoot
Chemical Warfare - The Dead Kennedys
Burn - Deep Purple
Tooth and Nail - Dokken
Cocaine - Eric Clapton
Eat the Rich - Aerosmith
Walk Away - Joe Walsh
Seven Wishes - Night Ranger
Suicide Solution - Ozzy Osbourne
Don't Stop Me Now - Queen
2112 Overture/The Temples of Syrinx
Fly Like an Eagle - Steve Miller Band
Blue Collar Man (Long Nights) - Styx
Cummin' Atcha Live - Tesla
Tattoo [Live at Leeds] - The Who
Baby What's Wrong - The Yardbirds
Paintbox - Pink Floyd
Hold on Loosely - 38 Special
Money For Nothing - Dire Straits
Sylvia [Live at Rainbow] - Focus
Really dunno if DK and Ozzy should be in there, but they do help add variety while sticking with the overall feeling. _________________

GH5 has a good base of a platform, but theres a lot of room for improvement. I have some suggestions for the Menu system, mostly because I can't come up with any breaking gameplay changes. These following things are must have for the next platform.
Intensity/Genre Customization
These are the most opinionated subjects when new song releases (below charting). Almost everybody have a opinion that "this song" is tiered too low or "thats song" does not have the right genre.
Solution! Make it possible to set your own intensity levels for the songs you'd like to change. Add options to make it possible to reset and brought back to normal, just in case you tiered far of and wanted to get back to the normal settings. This makes it possible for you to set the song difficulties for your preferences. Maybe you think that there are many songs that you think is totally ape shit and should be 10, but are tiered 7 or 8 by Neversoft. Would be nice to add some sort of notification that you've altered the intensity levels. Hard to keep track if you have over 300 songs
It's just that I have so many disagreements with how most of the songs should be tiered. DWNDWE and TotTG being tiered at the same level as YMCA on bass for an example, or perhaps "She Will Be loved" on tier 5 on drums.
The same thing could be done with Genres. I know that there have been much discussion about what if that song is Death Metal or not. Can be nice to set some genres that aren't chosen by neversoft. Like Emocore or Alternative Rock and so on.
If this is too much to ask for, perhaps we could get a complete overhaul instead? To even out the cracks.
Playlist Customization
We currently have pretty good playlist options in GH5 but there is much room for improvements.
Stuff like;
Being able to remove the pre-set playlist that came with the game, those are pretty annoying.
Being able to choose a playlist like "genre/intensity/year/source" by going "Playlist-> Genre-> Metal" or
"Playlist-> Intensity-> Guitar-> Tier 7"
Being able to shuffle the playlist when playing (from the pause menu).
Being able to create more then 10 personal playlists. Look something like this "Personal Playlist->Nostalgia" |

Good list I'd say but 2 things:
1) IIRC Gimme All Your Lovin' is DLC right now
2) I'd rather have Fire on High by ELO _________________

It is?
YES!!
I haven't heard it, but I agree.
and just to flesh it out for a 3-pack for RB:
Strike of the Ninja
Valley of the Damned
Prepare for War.
I'd prefer Sonic Firestorm or Inhuman Rampage full albums for GH, though.
Also, Skillet 3-pack:
Monster
Rebirthing
Whispers in the Dark _________________

This is a setlist that I would love to be in GH6, this could be the setlist that if Neversoft decided to go out on a Bang, this is a close enough idea of what I would like to see.
First off you might notice that it is very METAL orientated although not completely, I have tried to maintain a balance within Metal and Hard Rock (which is pretty much what GH started with)
I used a fair few of the songs from the GH: Classic Rock post further up which I helped make, and a few other places here and there
Right Now I am WAY too lazy to put a link up for every video, so if you havent heard of a particular song, I am afraid you will have to look it up yourself...... sorry.
Anyway here is the setlist (I am aware that there isnt enough songs for an entire main title release but it is just a wishlist after all =P)
Also I have decided to put 3 PTH songs on because I felt that since the treatment Tool got with GHWT, I thought that PTH were the perfect GH band and deserved a similar kind of treatment
And I also felt that it would be cool having a FB chart of Texas Flood on GH (yes I know it on GH1 and RB)
