Here's the star power path for this song. I got 5th with it last night without any squeezes, so it has to be right.
No need to wait for the third SP phrase - you should already have a full bar from the first two. Also, using SP immediately after the first phrase is a bad idea. Yes, you get an extra activation, but that extra activation contains a whopping 13 notes (and you don't even have a 4x when it starts). Then you can only have about 6 measures of SP during the refrain instead of 8, which is a loss of 24 notes. The holds aren't enough to cover this gap. _________________

Barb, why did you use SP over the 3rd phrase?
Surely it would be better to wait until you go those three, then activate immediately after the 3rd, so you can get all of the chorus? _________________

Yeah, but don't you get extra points from SP active notes? Therefore if you wait, you may not get any SP but you'll get 50 more points per SP active note? Therefore (can't think of any other linking words) won't that allow for more points? _________________

The only thing I can figure you are trying to say is that you get extra points for hitting notes that are part of a SP phrase (and still star-shaped). This is not the case - test it on the beginning of YYZ. _________________

(figured I'd try to make things fun for league) |
There is definitely at least 200 left on the last activation. I missed a chord squeeze on the 2nd activation and ended up with 200 less than you (and I missed 400, so do the math). And depending on how much you whammied and how well you squeezed, you can get about a half beat to a full beat of the B hold after the solo. |

Another technical note about the SP path: If you can squeeze from the first RB chord in measure 26 to the third GY chord in measure 32 with just the previous 2 SP phrases, then it is in fact better to use the first SP phrase separately.
Normal activation (including one chord squeeze): 19600 pts (including multiplier)
Split activation:
First activation (yellow in m12 to orange in m16): 3609 pts (it may be possible to get the green in m12 also, for 3759 pts)
Second activation (first RB in 26 to third GY in m32): 16000 pts
for a total of 19609 pts.
Hitting this squeeze would require getting 10 beats of SP out of the 8.5 beats of SP holds in the second phrase (through a combination of early whammying and squeezing). At this BPM, it may be possible. (However, it may also be possible to squeeze a second chord into the original full-bar activation, effectively getting 8 measures and half a beat in one activation. This would eliminate any hope for the split activation once and for all). _________________

This is my least favorite song in the entire game. I can't stand the lyrics, I hate the guitar, it's not fun to play I can barley get to 100k, I hate it. Once i 5 star I wont play this song again, at least not on mute with my Zune on. _________________

As long as you can double strum fast enough at those parts (shouldnt be a problem, and if it is, good luck with misirlou and six) you should be fine.
Not sure if this is the same problem you had, but I 5 starred it my first try once I got that part down |
I actually have 4*d misirlou and 5*d six, but Tattooed love boys is a bit slower, and I cant keep a combo on this part... maybe i strum too fast? |
