Well, that's the most likely scenario, it's a 1% chance- 100$ would be 40 keys, perhaps more if you're buying them on sourceop. _________________

Hoping you guys can give me a hand here... I haven't played in a verrry long time and I wanted to play today, but every time I try to boot up TF2, it closes out after the Valve opening screen. I've tried verifying the integrity of the cache and defragging cache files, and even re-installing from my Orange Box disc, but it hasn't fixed the problem. I'm on XP, my PC is over minimum specs, and I've run it with no problems in the past, so what gives? :/ _________________

Hmm, maybe a patch borked the system?
Not sure I understood exactly what you said, but did you try downloading the game from Steam (since it's free)? You actually bought the game, so hopefully it'll remember that and count you as a premium member? _________________

I uninstalled and re-downloaded it, still getting the same problem. :(
edit: i fixed it. turns out all I had to do was turn hardware acceleration on (I can't remember turning it off), restart my comp, and it went first try. yesssss _________________

Can't believe it took it being free, to get me to play this. The game is awesome; I could play Medic forever.... even if select few people yell out "Medic!" every second, whether they need it/are an appropriate class. But that's just a minor gripe. _________________

I will definitely be playing this on a regular basis.

I've grown to playing Medic a lot lately.
EDIT: Maybe the OP can make a list of all of our Steam ID's to make it easier to play together? _________________

Won't deny that people do this, but for the record a class with full health and still calling for medic can mean a few things:
- They want a kritz or uber that you have or are going to have soon. It may seem greedy but often times these are the best players to give it to since they are confident they can handle it well. I do this when I see a medic holding on to a kritz or uber for no apparent reason. I LOVE getting kritz'd or uber'd! nom nom nom
- They want an overheal so they can rocket or sticky jump into a contentious area. When I do this I usually quick ask over the mic for an overheal, otherwise the medic is likely to never heal you. Good medics will pick up on it though.
- They want overheal to cap or spam around a corner (for instance a demo strafe-spamming stickies around a corner onto a full cart).
- You aren't around anybody else but them, and you don't know they are there. Medics have yelled at me for calling medic when I'm behind them and they are running out of spawn ahead of me. Healing builds your ubercharge, sorry for trying to help us both.
But yeah people who do it all the time are an ass. If I'm playing medic I usually warn them that if they keep doing it I'm like to just stop healing them completely. Usually shuts them up. Oh hell might as well put some more medic tips here (note this mostly apply to large pubs, I do not medic in 6v6):
** STAY ALIVE. Absolutely number one priority. It is not worth risking your life to keep somebody else healed. If you feel they are over-reaching and you're going to get your ass killed, fuck 'em. Run back and heal the rest of your team. Your greatest strength is being able to pop uber/kritz, and the less you die the more you get off. If you uber somebody into a contentious area and you realize with 10% uber left that there is no way you are going to survive once it's gone, fuck 'em. Run back before you die. Obviously there are exceptions (especially if you have high confidence in your patient) but this is a good rule of thumb.
** Know when to pocket and when not to. If you are the only medic, for god sake's heal everyone, put out fires, etc. That doesn't mean you should run across sniper alley to heal a spy with 90 health but for the most part be there to help your team. If you have a lot of medics, it can be beneficial to stick to a heavy or a demo and let them do their work. Pocketing a class let's them do stuff they wouldn't otherwise be able to do. Of course you should still heal others if they are about to die, what have you.
** Be paranoid as a motherfucker. That heavy you are kritzing isn't going to be watching his back too intently for spies, so that's your job. Constantly be moving, looking, running around. Never sit still, it's the worst thing you can do.
Glad so many people are realizing what a great game TF2 is! :> Unfortunately I won't be around for the next week or so but I will try and hop on when I can. I'll add you guys. _________________

As part of the summer camp thing, TF2 has a new Achievement "Escape the Heat" (jump into a pool of refreshing water while on fire); earning this Achievement will earn you a ticket (which can be used to buy an in-game item, such as a map or sunglasses... check the list, it's different stuff for different games), as well as a chance to win the top 10 games in your Steam wishlist! As far as I can tell, you can only get it today (as well as a few other achievements for other games), so get playing!
... yeah, I'm actually mentioning this partly because I don't know how one goes about getting that done, since I don't know the game very well >_>. What map/game mode would you recommend to get this done? _________________

Eh, 2fort is easy enough. The whole middle area is water. I would recommend cp_freight, it's a really fun CP map and has water. Easiest way to get this achievement: go spy, wait around the water and do your thing. Sooner or later a pyro is going to set your ass on fire because that's what they do, jump into the water, and voila.
EDIT: cp_well also has water and is a very fun map. Believe there is a CTF version as well. _________________

I've mostly been playing Trackmania Nations lately (I love me some racing games), but I'll occasionally come on TF2.
