"C" key centers camera on your hero.
And I think Ctrl+C toggles between camera lock and free camera. At least it did when I was playing. Try it on a practice game. |

Space also centres on your champion, I can't play on locked position, you lose too much map awareness. And for champions with global ulti's (TF, GP, Panth, Nocturne, Ez, Ashe) being able to scroll around the map is so nice.
On the subject of the annoucer I feel HoN has a better system, plus with multipul annoucers you can get a bit of variety. When I play HoN I use either Miss Pudding or the new british annoucer over the default. Also while I don't mind denying as a mechanic I do feel it disadvantages melee hereos far more than ranged, could just be my lack of HoN experiance compared to LoL though. _________________

I understand that, but I'd rather not have to hold it down. I'll try out ctrl+c next time.
Again, it's probably because I'm so use to LoL, and it seems like most ranged skills in HoN can go beyond what you see when your camera is locked in (And it seems that the camera is more zoomed in than LoL). I'm sure I'll get use to it if I keep playing. _________________

Since we've talked a little about HoN in here I figure its ok to post about some other mobas.
Dota2: So you can apply to the beta of Dota2 if you have a steam account here: http://www.dota2.com/tournaments/international/ If you scroll down there a box with sign up to the beta in it. Overall it seems ok, not sure if I'll play it, depends if its f2p or if I can check out the beta.
Smite: Not much info on this at the minute, its going to be shown to the public for the first time at PAX next week. I'm really interested in seeing this game, from what they're saying its has the standard moba game basics but with a 3rd person over the shoulder camera view and heavily skillshot based combat. It's also apparently based on gods and mythology, with you playing various gods from Greek, Norse, Egyptian, Chinese and Hindu myths. You can watch TotalBiscuit do a short interview with one of the guys behind it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aQcnhe4aXA&feature=feedu
Realm of the Titans: In closed beta at the minute, seems ok. Looks pretty standard for a moba. I like the style of the game, it seems really polished. I'll most likely check it out at some point, especially as it seems to be f2p. You can see a video of FourCourtJester running through the tutorial here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qwjj57fqBS4
Rise of Immortals: So I played in the open beta of this, the game itself seems ok but I really don't like the way it looks. Also the beta servers are in the US and having 200+ ping constantly irritates me. Its kind of an interesting take on the genre with how you specifically level up a single Immortal by playing games. You can sign up for the beta here: http://www.riseofimmortals.com/ _________________

I doubt it will be F2P, seeing as how it's being developed as a full-release game, but I wouldn't mind seeing how LoL, and now HoN, do it: F2P with the options to buy champions.
Also, it's release date apparently go pushed back into 2012

This is the only other one on your list that I've heard of. The 3rd person PoV is definitely interesting, and I'll be checking it out upon release. _________________

I always figured it was a 2012 release, plus its Valve :P, I kind of hope its free to play, what with some rumours floating around and the fact TF2 went f2p it gives me a tiny amount of hope. I feel it kind of has to be f2p at this point, what with LoL and HoN being that way. I know, and obviously all the 'hardcore' moba players know that Dota was one of the originals, but to the casual players its just another game like LoL/HoN that Valve have made, and if its not free, they probably won't try it over LoL/HoN. I mean you have people commenting on the Dota2 trailer saying stuff like "omg they ripped off Ashe" etc, these guys obviously don't have a history with the genre. Either way, its a while off yet, and Valve always tend to have a very nice finished product.

I only just found out about it, apparently they're doing the exact same f2p model as LoL, completely free to play, you can buy champs with ingame or paid for currancy, the only stuff that is pay exclusive is cosmetic style stuff. So thats always a plus in my book. Imho its the best f2p model out there. _________________

I just wanted to say GROSS at keeping your camera following your character lol. Limits your view a ton. Try getting used to free roam on camera. You'll be a lot better once you do. Maybe try it on a smurf.
And and I don't have high hopes for Dota 2. Butwe'll see. I'll try get in the beta. And HoN... hate that game haha.

I've noticed myself doing it more on LoL since starting to play HoN, and it's not too bad really. I think the main thing for HoN is that the camera feels really close to the hero.

I've been trying to pick up various roles for when I play ranked. My main picks would be Cait and Brand, but I've been playing around with Xin, Yi, Ali, and Blitz. All fun characters. _________________

I've been playing jungle Trundle in ranked pretty much exclusively. My elo isn't amazing, currently at 1200, but I've not been playing ranked long, done about 20 matches I think, something like that. But yeah, Trundle has always been my favourate champion, and I've really started getting the small tricks in his jungle down. If I'm on purple team, I can start with cloth armour and 5 health pots, get a pull on blue, clear the jungle with double buff and still have 2 pots left over. I then usually immediately gank top since I just killed the golems. Has resulted in a kill most of the time. Most of the time I dual queue with my mate Uniform764 who tends to lane top solo with Singed or Nasus, because of this he tends to know my gank timing on top lane with that route. So he tends to let them push a little harder near that time. Works well :P
Outside of ranked I literally play most heroes, been playing Kennen and Wukong lately. Both very enjoyable.
Incidently if anyone cares I've had a few low elo games cast by FourCourtJester. He's been asking for fan replays to cast to help him get back his LoL casting in preperation for casting MLG.
First one is a normal game, I'm playing Jax and grouped with Uniform764 (Amu) and Vorax (Poppy). Its kinda trollish, but I thought it was a funny game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAEujYy5fiQ&feature=channel_video_title
Second one is my first ever attempt at Warwick in the jungle (plus its ranked). I'd jungled before, but not with ww. Its not the best replay, but the game is kinda close. I've not jungled ww since, much prefer Trundle :P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2oIPIoCdn4A _________________

Hey guys, I managed to get my hands on a copy of "LoL Domination" by a person named TheGameDude. He had some promo running where you could downloading his guide for free if you filled out a survey. All I had to do was disable Javascript to block the survey window not pop-up, and it allowed me to download it for free anyways.
It's honestly nothing special, especially the retail price he sells it at ($30 I think). Just a short 22 page .pdf with some pretty basic tips, so it would be pretty good to new players, but not for that price.
Anyways, if you have heard of it and was curious of what it contained, like I was, you can download it here. Just thought I would let you guys know (I'm always curious what guides like this contain, but I would never pay for something like this!) _________________

Just opened up LoL for the first time since the latest patch (Got into a 90 queue time last night :/ Fuck that). I'm REALLY liking the new layout. It's nicely organized, and the inclusion of their recent youtube videos is awesome as well.
EDIT: Actually, I like the feel of EVERYTHING! Results screen, even the little things like the bar that pops up when you b. _________________

Yeah the new layout is really nice, very clean. Plus its a lot easier to see whos alive and dead quickly now in the scoreboard. Big fan of that, I just wish the death timer was on the right of the name as it was before rather than the left as it is now. Apart from that I don't have any complaints with it.
What I am getting annoyed it as the mass abuse of the current AoE bug. For anyone who doesn't know, currently all aoe abilities are having their range vastly increased, and its flat out breaking the game. They've blocked Cass and Karthus for being used because they can spam aoe but everyone else is open. I've faced so many Chos, Kogs, Ori, Brand today that have almost undogable aoe skillshots. Apparently its something to do with champion hitboxes being too large now or something. Whatever the case, ranked is now pure aoe spam, and its flat out not fun. _________________

Been jungling with Noc (Need a Jungler in my rotation) and he's very, very fun (And very helpful in Ranked since it seems Jungler and Tank are the 2 positions most people don't want to play). I've played 5 games with him, won 4. Averaging a 4.1:1 KDA according to their ranked page. _________________

Nocturne is pretty fun to jungle with, I'm just not good with him :/ I get what I have to do on paper, but I can never seem to click with him in game. My jungle is usually Lee Sin, Gangplank (when he's not instabanned) and Trundle. Unfortunately I'm on a huge losing streak at the minute, so I'm pretty fustrated with ranked. Dropped from 1200 elo to 1050ish in the last day or so.
Also in ranked I'd say support is rarest. Although with the sustain nerf we're seeing some cool aggressive supports come out. Alistar is really good, Lux can work pretty well, at least from what I've seen. _________________
