@Nubnut: oh, then you will love the sneak skill tree! And then you'll definitely will want to use daggers as your sneaky, non-ranged weapon: somewhere in the sneak skill tree (not entirely sire where), there's a perk that gives daggers a 15x damage when you use them for a sneak attack. Just to compare, when you first start out, weapons do 2x damage while undetected. Seriously, I think you'll find everything you want in de sneak skill tree!

@captain: both alchemy and archery are a lot more useful this time around. You can actually deal some heavy damage with archery when playing sneaky, even more so when you create poisons to use as well.

13 Hours til I get my hands on Skyrim! I'm going to the midnight release with a few of my friends, and we are all going to spontaneously combust from the epicocity (making up my own words now) that this game is going to offer. Needless to say, we're excited. The hardest part about today is going to be trying to make it through the day.

You can't Dual Wield weapons and use magic at the same time lol

Anyway, killing the first dragon was pretty epic. Dual Wielding magic = GG.

I'm pretty sure my biggest challenge this evening will be to not get drunk. It's far too cold to hang around queuing on the street so we're getting our queue tickets from and going to wait in the pub. Just over 3 and a half hours 'til midnight, I'm heading out in maybe half hour. I stupidly decided to read a bunch of reviews, so most of my thoughts right now can be summed up as "YEEEEEE OMG".

I killed my second Dragon easily. I used only one arrow.

...

Didn't need more, the Dragon's attack had aggro'd two Mammoths, which took him down easily.

Went into Gamestop earlier and had them put a reserve on their last Collector's Edition for me Oh man, today has been absolutely miserable to live through and it's only 3:30! I still have to go to work too which is going to be hell because all I can think about is this game. But as soon as I get off, I'm heading to Gamestop! Only 8 1/2 hrs!

For the record, according to metacritic the game is currently sitting at a 96% rating with 20 100% ratings across all consoles, and is looking to be the highest rated Bethesda game of all time.

A 10 from Destructoid, major props from Rock Paper Shotgun, 5 star from Joystiq, 9.5 from Game Informer, 9.5 from IGN, yeah, this game is going to be good lol

Anyone heard anything about the PC version yet? I'm curious to know how stable it is at launch.

It should/better be stable. Bethesda's known to give a little extra love due to the modding community. What I'm excited to see is how they managed to provide such bare minimum requirements considering the size of the game. Only 6 gigs of HDD space? That's some quality compressing right there. (And to think I bought a brand new $1600 rig for this game). I'll put aside my hate for Steam on this one as well..

What really busts my balls is that I probably won't be able to play it until next week when my new computer comes in. My Laptop will be lucky if it can run it. Needless to say I'll be pissed if it doesn't run.

Also it looks like Bethesda's already cleaning up whatever bugs there may be on the PC version. As i've already preloaded the game through Steam (which only took me about 1 hour due to how surprisingly small the game is, only 6 gigs, compared to things like the Witcher 2 at almost 13 gigs) and about 15 minutes after turning on my computer this morning it told me that a new patch for Skyrim had just finished downloading.

So if we're lucky, by the time I get to start playing in 6 hours most of the bugs will already be patched out of the game for PC.

So, based on other game's experience (I've only ever playing Oblivion, and didn't really understand the mechanics when I did) is it a bad thing to focus on just one thing? Like right now, I'm mainly training Destruction Magic. Is that a bad thing? Would it be better to spread out across other magics? Or, in the end, it doesn't really matter?
