|
|
So yeah, I've been doing higher level "Rubiks" cubes so to speak for some time, and I was wondering if anyone else on scorehero has as well! I'm currently able to solve up to a 6x6, and hoping to get a 7x7 soon I plan on moving eventually to the 11x11. My fastest time for 5x5 (Though at this point I really don't go for speed) is approx. 8 minutes, and on the 6x6 I can do it in around 24-40 minutes, depending on a few things. But yes, if you do, let me know! Tell me how long you've been at it, what level you can currently do, and how fast . You can post tips if you want, but I formulated my own method for solving both the 5x5 and 6x6, so I doubt any tips will help me speed up my times lol =p. But you're welcome to post in case someone else finds them useful. _________________

11x11 no. I'm sorry, I can solve a basic 3x3 and I'm proud enough of this ! And it takes me already 15 minutes so yeah
You should post a video of you solving a big one (speeding it up for the sake of length maybe) |

Never bothered to move up from 3x3 but I can consistently complete it in ~30 seconds. _________________

There are various methods for speeding up your time lol, if you ever wanted to and yeah I've done 28 seconds before on the 3x3, but I usually get closer to 40 every time. On the 4x4 I can do it in about...3-4 minutes. But I went ahead and up'd the layers just to see if I could do it =p. _________________

I can't even solve 1 face on the 3x3 :/. I remember seeing a friend of mine solving the 3x3 in 25 seconds though, from a normal person's perspective it looks amazing. |

i only have a 4x4 and half the time i get a parody where i have to do this crazy long move that screws up half the cube, so i usually end up ragequitting and mixing up the whole cube and starting over, hoping for the off chance that i won't get the parody. = annoying so i quit going for times. _________________

Ohh? Well I have a method (and algorithms if you'd like) for solving it fairly easily every time, though to those who do it quickly you'll solve it in a relatively long time of around 3-5 minutes. But if you'd like it, pm me _________________

......They make an 11x11 now? Cheesus Crust, I need to get back into cubing...
I have only solved the 3x3 and the 4x4. Never had a good enough 4x4 to speed solve, but I did "speed solve" the 3x3, my fastest being about 58 seconds. My mind doesn't process that fast. But I do find enjoyment out of solving it, and just to say that I have done it. Either way, I need to dig my cubes out again. _________________

Oh yes, the 11x11 are indeed real. However, they aren't really endorsed much because a 3rd party company makes them rather than the vcube company. And honestly, a 4x4 isn't harder than the 3x3. You simply have to orientate the faces. The edges also need a seperate algorithm or two but once you've learned them you'll get it down in no time. This of course gets more complicated with added layers, but the same principles apply (Thus why I was able to figure out both the 5x5 and 6x6 myself =P). _________________

I can solve any dimension. I've solved the V Cube up to 7 and I've gone up to 11 on virtual cubes. _________________

If you can do a 5, you can solve any cube. The 5 is harder than the 4 just for having the center edges.
My record on 3 is ~45 seconds.
I do the 6 in 20 or so minutes and the 11 took me hours, lol! It definately was not in one sitting. _________________

That's me doing a virtual 7x7x7. I sped up the video because it was really long. I can do a 3x3x3 in about 1:30, but I used to be sub 50sec. I still have my 4x4x4 somewhere which I could do and my 5x5x5, but that got eaten by my puppy. |

Black- Very awesome! What method do you use for the 3x3? I'm also curious as to how you do a 4x4 an up.
Eddaket- Very awesome video! Great job my man. and sub 50 honestly isn't that bad. There's only a small amount of people who can do it really fast anyway lol. _________________

Meh, I disagree. The edges are easier on a 5x5, just more plentiful and harder to trick you into thinking you didn't get a Parity Error before getting the first few layers. Though getting those last two centers is such a bitch on a 5x5... and the 5x5 does have more parity cases, so... wait....
That said, the biggest one I've solved is a 5x5, and never really played around with virtual ones. It's been a while since I've really done anything with a cube, though, so I'd need to re-memorize the few algs I already knew, and learn more, since I only knew like 7 PLLs and only the cross OLLs, just doing tricks (forgot what it's called) so I can still solve it when I get to a case I didn't know.
By the way, anyone played Rubik's video games? I played a demo of one on DS once, and it was awkward trying to solve the 3x3 on the touch screen. Took both me and my friend 3 times longer than usual to solve it XD. _________________

I looked up 11x11 and they're only 175$ shipped directly from China. I can only do 3x3 cubes though and have a half solved megaminx that I haven't bothered finishing lol |
