Definitely hacking on online

I was playing some song online amd the guy hit hit orange fret button and strummed, there were no notes coming at us, and he was gaining points. By the time the notes started coming at us he had like 1.5k points. But then, in like the middle of the song he missed a note, and was immediately back at x4 multiplier even though he only hit one note. Any ideas EXCEPT for hacking?

its a bit odd that someone would already be.. hacking the game. im not sure if there could be some weird kind of lag but, really thats very odd.i dont really see why you would on guitar hero, i mean, they isntantly know you suck lol.
