I always thought of myself to be a pretty consistent player; always when I was getting my scores raped or not even hitting notes i'd come back in a few days or some stuff like that. It wasn't too bad for me even then. Now, it's even worse.

I think about 3 weeks ago was my highest point in the GH3 timeline. I made a video on youtube of Through the Fire and Flames and then I got around 429k. The next day I kept playing and my score kept shooting up and then before I knew it I had 484k on a run.

I thought i'd always hit around that high; sometimes i'd hit 430k, 462k, around hitting places but then I always told myself at least I wasn't failing.

Until now.
A few days ago I went back to the GH3 hardcoreness again after taking about a 3 day break. My mother hates it when I play guitar hero, well.. maybe 'cause I strum too loud or she hears the clicking (I still use my Gibson SG's.) She's also recovering from surgery a few weeks back but she always told me it was okay anyway.

But still; my skill has decreased like a balloon deflating. I can't even finish Herman's Solo while still in the green, objecting to a few weeks ago I was nailing almost 75% of the notes. Around the end of Sam's solo i'm in the low yellow-top red and then i'm falling because the green used to cushion the parts I couldn't hit. Before I never hit the red and then that was that; and I could pass the intro and soloes every time.

This week I have about 2/5 times I have fully FC'ed the intro (except the sweeps) and about 1 time I have broken combo and still lived. My score has gone to the low 400k's and maybe even 390k; my all-time low. I have failed numerous times around 70%, 81%, and the triplets and So far Away III. I can't even get a good consistent run in, and it's starting to really piss me off. There's not much I can do because every time I play i'll be positive for about 30 minutes but then maybe after that i'll start getting angry. Today I even proceeded to grabbing my Black SG's neck and slamming it against my bed. Luckily there was no damage but i've been getting so angry lately I can't do much. My finger speed is decreasing, I can't hold streaks like I used to.

What's happening to me?

When i get somethin good i can never get close to it again. Last week i got 467k on TtFaF and now im back at my always 389k. i even got 2 scores 389443 and 389444. About not passing the solos... Sounds like you need to take a longer break. I'm startin to fail too... But, i actually do better after a big break. gl

Ahh, you're not "going down the drain." It just seems to me that you're over thinking about beating that good ass score that you posted up and you end up siking yourself out, that's all. Just take a break from TtFaF, play some songs you rape and then come back to it later. I pretty much guarantee you'll equal or better your score some the next time you play it. Personally, I don't think TtFaF is a song that you can play repeadtly, I know I couldn't do it. Just play it randomly. You'll get more enjoyment from just hearing it and actually doing well on it.

Look at it this way. On a GREAT run I can make it about 78% through.

TTFAF is weird, I get my best scores on it when I haven't played it for a few days. Play other songs and just come back to it every once in a while, b/c for me at least TTFAF isn't the kind of song you can improve your score a lot by just playing it over and over.

Nuts. I was hoping that would be the way I could own it.

By playing it over, and over, and over.. knowing where everything was and getting the hang of it.

I have this problem with KoC on hard, I got maybe 184k and kept increasing to 223k. Now if I play, I get like 180k, 190k tops. Same thing with One. If you ask me, you already told us your problem. You said your mother just had surgery and that is in the back of your head. Without full undivided attention, you can't focus on the game as well. Once your mother is fully recovered, your ability will come back. For now, just stick to easier songs or just relax and forget about GH and wait until you feel better.
