In terms of GH3 only, I can't think of much else 'cos I've watched almost an entire series of The Mighty Boosh overnight and it's broken my brain.
Kool Thing: ...yeah, I've said this loads of times. <3 Sonic Youth, </3 notechart.
Same Old Song And Dance: as above really. Great song... I might be the only one who thinks so but it seems inordinately hard to play on any difficulty above medium.
Tom Morello Guitar Battle: great piece of music, dreadful to play.
I don't think there's any that I really don't like to listen to, actually. They all tend to grow on me quite quickly. _________________

Much love for Aerosmith, but there ARE better songs they could have put in... Since Rock Band has Train Kept A-Rollin'... Walk This Way, perhaps?
Love to listen, hate to play:
Guitar Hero
Killer Queen: Great song. Fantastic song... But... Really? Even on Expert you seldom go beyond playing quarter notes aside from the outro. I do question whether this song really belongs in Guitar Hero, I suppose it's a by-product of the easier charts in the first game?...
The Breaking Wheel: Oh lawd. Fastest average NPS of any song in the game. Not a bad instrumental, but... LAWD.
Guitar Hero II
Misirlou: Gawd I love Dick Dale, but seriously man, my strum hand goes to shit when I play this song.
Gemini: I actually dig this song a lot when I just listen, but this is one of the most annoying songs to play, ever. My 61st Guitar Hero II 5*.
Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s
Radar Love: It's a cool song, for the most part I even enjoy playing the chart, but the solo makes me feel stupid.
Because, It's Midnite: This was the only song I failed on sightread before Electric Eye. When I first failed this song, I literally looked at the screen, completely dumbfounded, because I did not know what hit me. I mean, I didn't see it coming.
No, I literally didn't see it coming. I failed that quickly.
Kind of a shock to the system.
What I Like About You: What I hate about 3-note chords.
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
Rock You Like a Hurricane: Okay, it's not that I hate playing this song, and please note that the song is, in fact, epic win (and I heaved a sigh of relief when I first heard how flawless they did the cover after the No One Like You cover). It's just that they mapped the Star Power in this one terribly. 6 Star Power phrases? Of those six, three of them are in solos, and a fourth is at the end where it's of no use to anyone. I mean, Freya's were similar in sparsity, but at least they were accessible. (Still a pretty fun chart though.)
Hate to listen, love to play:
Guitar Hero
Okay, I've got nothing. I really enjoyed just about every song in this game, the few I didn't, I also didn't like playing, so no love lost.
Guitar Hero II
Laid to Rest: Generic screamer metal. Blech. And yet... I can't get enough of this song on GH. Epic HO/PO! Rawr!
Less Talk More Rokk: I'm not for bubble-gum synth-pop, but I love playing the ascending scales in this song. So sue me!
Guitar Hero II Encore: Rocks the 80s
Turning Japanese: I hate this song, not because it's bad, but because it's so damn catchy. In fact, I don't even love the chart on the game itself, there's nothing extraordinary about it or anything. Playing this song on GH80s just happens to be a guilty pleasure of mine, one of those things I'll lock the door for before and feel dirty for after. So sue me.
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
Lay Down: This song isn't BAD or anything, but it is kinda generic in this new generation of rock and roll. I wouldn't buy their CDs and I wouldn't download this song. But damned if I didn't play this song over and over and over again when the game came out! (Okay, that's a lie. I played it twice, once for the sightread FC that got me 2nd place and another for the 1st. I only started playing it repeatedly after the fact.)
My Name is Jonas: Again, strikes me as generic, I don't like the sound, somebody shoot this singer. But look! HOPOs!!!!1one
The Metal: Again, generic, shoot the singer (okay, don't. I've met Jack Black before, my brother's had dinner with him, he seems like a pretty cool guy). Main riff's cool though.
Through the Fire and Flames: Not a Dragonforce fan. Probably never will be. But the moment I beat this song on Expert in a room jam-packed with teenagers, jaws dropped in unison, made the whole purchase worthwhile. The fact of the matter is, in an otherwise VERY underwhelming bonus track list, this and Impulse keep me coming back for more (Impulse is not mentioned because the song is epic win, and so's the chart). _________________

Love the Song, Hate to Play:
-Cliffs of Dover
-Through the Fire and Flames
-Number of the Beast
Hate the Song, Love to Play:
-Cult of Personality
That's really the only one. Usually I play songs because I like to hear them, and rarely have a song I just play because the note chart is fun. Most of the fun is in the muic ^_^
And this is just GH3, I'm sure I could think of songs from other games if I tried hard enough. |

Oh, for sure. I'd love to see Eat The Rich myself but I can't imagine it happening any time soon. _________________

GH2
Hate To Play love to listen
Freya: It's actually a decent song in my opinion.
Woman: One of my most anticipated tracks for GH2. Too bad I suck at it. Belevie it or not, but I 5*ed Laid To Rest before 5 starring Woman.
War Pigs: Great Song, but I am almost bored to death when playing a billion times over.
Surrender: The problem with this song and guitar hero is that the song focuses mostly on vocals and has a repetetive guitar pattern. I love this song, but I would have picked a different one for gh.
Hate to listen love to play
Psychobilly Freakout: Don't like the song, Love the chart.
Beast And The Harlot:
         = Good
Avenged Sevenfold = Bad
GH3
Love to listen to hate to play
My Curse: Gotta love Killswitch Engage, but if you downstrum this song (like me ) it becomes some sort of contraption to destroy your strummig arm.
Prayer Of The Refugee: FINALLY a Rise Against song in the game. But they picked the wrong one in my opinion. How many times am I going to have to hit nothing but chords and have fun on a song with not a single hammer-on? There might be one or two but thats far from the pont.
Slow Ride: *YAWN*
Number Of The Beast: I though this was going to be my favorite song in the game, but 3-note chords proved me wrong.
Love to play hate to listen
Before I Forget: Yeah, you heard. I like playing this song but I do not like Slipknot becuase I ain't some 12 year old punk.
Hit Me With Your Best Shot: Yeah...not a big fan of Pat Benetar, but the solo in this song is too fun to ignore.
In Love: I want to puke every time I hear this song, but it's got some mad fun riffs.

I love listening to Prayer of the Refugee, but playing it is about as much fun as stabbing myself in the sack. _________________

GH3 Hate to play but love song
Slipknot - b4 i forget: great song and im actually good at it, but chart is a little tough. I broke 500k on it but after the bridge my hand is on fire.
Slayer - raining blood: This song is holding me back from 5* in expert. ok song and I guess chart is okay, but man... I cant even 5* it online when I can use my SP when I want. 215k is my record on single player. This should have been a bonus song!
Velvet Revolver - Slither: I used to hate this chart but now that I have played it a million times I love it. Once you get used to it its extremely fun! This is my highest ranking song #10 on XBL |

One and Raining Blood just aren't fun, no two ways about it. It's a shame because I was really looking forward to playing them. _________________

I see a lot of people complaining about One, and I just have to disagree. I love the song and I play it all the time. When I get to the Darkness Riff, I just have to pump up the volume and try not to bang my head.
That said, GH1 has two of my favorite songs to listen to, but I hate to play them. Cochise and Hey You. The originals just sound so much better than the covers. But I hate on GH1 too much, I should really appreciate what it has done for videogames. _________________

I've only had one song that I've really liked but I absolutely dreaded playing. Sweet Child of Mine for some reason I just hate it. I don't know if it's the cover or the note chart probably both but I just can't stand to play it. |
