I downstrum all the 3-note Chords but I alt strum all of the faster parts.

I usually just alt strum the greens only, and downstrum the rest, although I can downstrum the slower greens no problem, I just find it easy to alt-strum. Obviously I have to alt-strum the fast greens for FC though.

Also, while we're on the topic of 3s & 7s, does anyone sometimes have a hard time getting the tempo down for the series of After the entire first part of the song? I can usually get it now but that stopped me from the FC for a while, and my first 100% wasn't an FC because of an overstrum there and somewhere else.

I can downstrum it, but alt strumming it feels so much cooler.

For someone who loves to alt strum, I can downstrum pretty damn fast. I beat Misirlou and Six only downstrumming.

I altstrum everything in the verses.

My only issue is the chords just before the song takes a left turn from a punkish feel to a metal feel. Otherwise, I have the FC already!

You're all crazy, alt-strum the lot IMO.

I alt-strum the entire thing and I've gotten a -1 run on it. Haven't worked on the song in weeks, but I'm fairly certain I could FC it with a good 30 minutes of dedication.

I play tennis though, it helps.
How does it help? I also play tennis daily and consider myself a very good player at that but I'm not a very fast downstrummer. Anyway, I think it's best to use a combination of alt-strumming and downstrumming. It's what I use and I am extremely close to FCing it.

not really.
if you want more than a 5.8* youre going to have to learn how to alt strum it.
it takes 20 minutes of practice, literally.

Haha, i FC'd this and mauvais Garcon with nothing but downstrums

(exept the 2 tiny fast parts in 3's and 7's)

Come on. Lets not resort to telling people they have to downstrum or altstrum something. If you learn anything by reading these boards it should be that different people do things differently, and not 1 way is correct.

Almost everything in this song can be successfully downstrummed, aside from the 2 fast strings of green notes. Just because YOU cant do it successfully doesnt mean that other people cant, even if you are an excellent player.

As for the tennis comment. . . I fail to see how it helps to be a fast downstrummer. I mean, I play tennis and am a fast downstrummer, but still dont see how they connect.

you took my side. And the tennis thing gives you arm strength= better strumming. I mean you could be a quarterback too, but I'm not.

lolwut did you really? If you already had a 7.5* with altstrums then why would you even use my tip? It's for people who have trouble 5*ing the darn thing. I actually failed some of my attempts at 5*ing before I tried downstrumming.

Hybrid strum. You just gotta get down with the rhythm.

Ain't that the truth. There is not 1 song that I can say I downstrum or alt-strum the ENTIRE thing.

I can get most of the rest of the song until the swing section near the end. I am missing some serious multipliers and sp by never ever being able to hit the transition from Blue/Orange x10 then 1 Blue/red to blue/yellow.

I dont know how to draw it out for you. Any fingering tips would be great. I am only 500 points of the cutoff and just want to get this out the way now as its taken way too much of my time.

I alt strum most of the song. The only place I don't alt strum is the part after the 2nd chorus with the G note and the other 2 note chord following. It's easy to get the hand of. I'm only 6.2* but I'm working on it.

I alt strum the entire song, and am close to FCing it...
But then again, I beat GH2 on expert for the first time without even knowing what a hammer on was.. So yea... I couldn't see myself down-strumming it.
