|
|
The first time my PS2 data got corrupted was about a month ago, so I started all over again.. Re-5stard all of easy through hard and improved allot in expert. Tonight, I went to play again and my data was corrupted again...
Then I remembered a thread where you can copy your game to an other memory card and it may "un-corrupt" your GH3 data, so I tried it and it didn't help, I still lost everything.
Before anyone asks, I have never closed my PS2 while it was saving or loading data, the only time I closed it in GH was at the song selection screen (especially after the first time I lost my data, I have been allot more careful since then).
My question is this, does anyone know why PS2 versions of GH3 have a tendency to corrupt files? And does anyone know how to avoid these problems?
If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. (I have started to backup my savegame to make sure if something happens I won't be far off, but it is a nuisance)
Edit : On a weirder note, my old save game that is corrupted now won't let me save over it or delete it, since my PS2 says it is a corrupted space. (I'm pissed off) _________________

Yeah, I'm not so pissed about re-doing expert, but I always want to have everything I can in a game that I buy, thats why I 5stared Easy through hard twice. I don't mind doing expert again, but I really don't fell like doing the rest if I'm going to have to start over again in a few months.
Another Edit : I only have 2 memory cards for my PS2 (one is corrupt for GH3) and no money to buy an other one (I blew my knee a month ago and can't work, so all the money I have is going to pay rent and food until I'm healed) so I can't backup my progress even if I wanted too. _________________

This happening to me was one of the turning points in me deciding to buy a PS3.
When it happened I just sat there looking at the screen for about 5 minutes repeatedly saying: 'what a fucking joke' under my breath.
Like what was said above it could help you in increasing scores but I was so pissed off I feel your pain, so many hours wasted!
Just start again and unlock all the songs with a cheat! _________________

First off, are you using a Sony (OEM) memory card? 3rd party memory cards suck ass. And if you have 2 memory cards, just backup your data every once in a while. _________________

Yes, I am using two Sony OEM memory cards, but now that one of my saves is corrupted on one of them, I for some reason can't delete it or create a new save file on that card... I'm going to have to buy another one I guess (it sucks to have to by one just for GH3) _________________
