I think there all hard skills because I can't hold on to superfast lines long
and I'm just starting to learn HOPO's as I am progressing through expert
and I can't do more that about 5 in a row. _________________

Same for me |

I was playing Get ready to Rock on expert and i hit every note through to the first solo.. that includes the incredibly fast part inbetween some of the
b-rb-rb-rb-rg-yg-yg-yg-yg-rg-rg-rg-ry-o. So yeah.. i know i didn't strum that fast because i was expecting to miss it like i usually do.. so hammering on+Miricle of Christ= Hitting that part. |
You too? Man, I was flipping when I got that. The only difference is, I strummed. |

im talking about 4 strands of notes not 3, cause the game only allows three in a row i think |
Well, when you strum, you're allowed a tiny bit more flexibility with your timing. As in, if you're strumming, you can be noticably early OR late when playing the note in the game which can be REALLY useful to those who can master their timing, but, that's a SP discussion. When using HO's and PO's, your timing and rhythm have to be more accurate than if you were to just strum.
Another solution is to strum in time or rhythm during the long and winding HO and PO sections, and your safest bet for that is strumming on the downbeat because nothing says that if you miss the first part of a HO or PO run you can't start doing those in the middle of it.
Oh, and for me, it's anything longer than 4 notes that really pains me and I sacrifice my right arm to get =). |
