The performance scenes in Nodame are incredible. Anyone know how they do the animation for those? They seem too real to just be the usual animation.

But now I'm watching GitS for a more serious show. I'm surprised I never watched it before, but I'm really enjoying the second season right now. I suppose I'm better off anyway, I probably wouldn't have understood it a few years ago.

That was actually my least favorite part (not saying much; it's my favorite anime) of the entire show. The first season was sorta low budget so they used stills for most of the performances and used this weird, unnatural looking 3D capture thing for individual instruments. The way I understand they took live action of someone playing the part and then cel-shaded it.

After disappointments from both Saimoe and Best Moe this year, it's a very pleasant surprise to see Hinagiku win ISML. It must really suck to be a Shana fan right now though; this is the second time Hina has taken 1st place from her by just a handful of votes (Best Moe 2007: 2015-2013; ISML 2009: 2117-2106). On the other hand, being a Shana fan tends to go hand in hand with being a Taiga fan, and considering that she won both Saimoe and Best Moe this year...

Grats Hina, glad to see ISML got it right. On another positive note, at least Saki didn't completely dominate the other tournaments. It's much better to have Taiga win than Nodotits.

eightch, eye, en, eigh, mankai, hai hai, etc.

Anyway, Winter Season looks cool.

I might have to rewatch 2nd Gig sometime, probably when I get around to buying the DVDs for them. I think a lot of the batch downloads don't have the tachikomatic days shorts after them, or maybe they do, but I'm too lazy to find one that does.

Anyways, the real reason I'm posting:

I think the KAA batch does have them.

indeed the KAA batch has the tachikomatic days included, however there are no dubs. so in your case micro, id just wait till you have the chance to by the DVD set

According to AniDB, both a-S and V-A have dual audio releases for GitS: 2nd GIG. Note the episodes column and how the last ones listed begin with an 'S'. These are the specials that you're looking for, and if you combine a-S' and V-A's releases, you'll conveniently end up with all 26 specials.
