So? Do you think you're really good for the amount of time you've invested, or should you be better? How do you feel about how well you play Guitar Hero.

Possibly, give a little background. I'm actually really interested in responses here.

Me?

I've been playing exactly two years (I say exactly because I got it on my birthday two years ago, and today is my birthday)

I began playing on GHII. GHII and GHIII are the only titles thus far I've invested any decent time into, and between the two I have 49-50 FCs. I've also five starred every song in every game (except WT, but I have only gotten to play it for about 30 minutes)

I play quite a bit. Sometimes I go a week to a few weeks without playing (against my own will, as in my TV broke, lost access to ps2 when my sister moved, working/school, jail time =\, ect...) But when I do play, it can be a song or two a day, to 3 or 4 hours, or even longer if there's nothing going on that day!

But really.. It seems that for two years I should be better than I am.. Hm. I guess I'm not at all pleased with where my skill with this game is at. Of course I still enjoy the hell out of it and don't see this thought causing me to cut back on playing time. But eh.. I think my rank should be a lot higher (I only try to raise my rank on GHII, and it's around 400th on expert).

But overall, no, I'm not really personally pleased. I understand I'm a decent player overall, but personally I'm just not satisfied and think I should be better.

(and I know we all progress at different rates, but this is just about you personally, so don't go tossing that fact out there)

I've been playing since Guitar Hero 1, I started Expert when Guitar Hero 2 came out. I'm actually kind of pissed off about my skill actually. I play A LOT and if I remember correctly people like iamchris4life started on Guitar Hero 2 and he's godlike. So doesn't that mean I should be doing better than him?

I started two years ago at Christmas, with GHII, and i'm pretty pleased with my progress and skill level.
I don't play every day, and when I do, it's only for an hour, on average.

Don't be upset about the time you've invested, if you enjoy it, it's surely worth it?

Happy birthday!

I've been actually "playing" since whenever GH3 came out, and it was the first GH game I'd owned. I had rented GH2 a couple times, and I could play the first few tiers on hard after about 5-6 days.

When I got GH3, I started on Hard, managed to struggle my way through the career, got to Lou, and just couldn't do it. Made my way through Expert, and got really stuck on CoP. After a LOT of practice, I managed to nail it (!!!) and then immediately after went back and destroyed Lou. Cue the hellish final tier, and I beat Raining Blood before I beat One.

After I'd beaten all the songs, that's when I started getting really competitive. I broke 10mil career score around April, and I thought I was a beast. All my friends did too, and I was pretty happy to be ranked about 18,000th on the 360 leaderboards.

Soon after I started going for FC's, got most of the easy ones, and just generally kept improving my scores. Every time I took a break, when I came back and played through the setlist my scores kept rising.

I can't exactly remember the day I did it, but when I beat TTFAF the first time I remember shakily texting my best friend and telling her what I'd just done. Shortly after, I'd 5*'d everything but Raining Blood (still haven't!).

I didn't play for about 2 months, I just lost interest. I had bought GH2, played through it without failing a song. After my dry spell, came back, and got my career score just shy of the 11mil mark.

Then I realised boss battles count, and my career score is at around 11.7 mil (I've got 17 FC's too, by the way).

In summation, I can consistently beat the Dragonforce track pack and DWTDTG without too much trouble, and I'm the best out of everyone I know. So yeah, I'm pretty happy, and I can't wait to finally be able to play drums and vocals when WT comes out here.

I think I've done alright for the amount of effort I put in.

I've gone from average medium/low hard to where I am now in about a year, having previously just been content to kick around on medium. I've never been the type to play a lot, 10 hours a week probably at my most active. These days, I play less than ever... maybe an hour a week and sometimes I'll go a couple of weeks without even thinking about it.

i got gh2 for christmas 06 and played it through until i got to expert. I played the first tier and was amazed i could hit that orange note, but still unable to really get it. Then I stopped playing and went through spring to gh3 release with out a ps2.

My buddy got gh3 and I went straight into it on hard and then expert. Went back and finished gh2, got gh3 and hit all that shit up.

From gh3 until now I've played pretty hard. Sometimes putting as much as 30 hours a week into it when I've been too broke to go do anything lol (a soda and frozen pizza is pretty cheap, and the game is bought, so it's a perfect broke man past time)

Since then I still play it about every day. How much varies depending on how well I warm up, get into it, what else is going on, and if I have friends online to play with.

I have 45 full combos on ps2, and about 10 more full combo's planned out... however I'm sorta stuck trying to re-do some scores on my ps3 still. So I haven't gone after the new fc. I did get wt, but have stuck with gh3 because I still have this extensive, exciting, and fast paced goal list with it, where as with wt i don't even know half the songs...

I have beaten satch boogie, and hot for teacher already though lol. Don't get me wrong, I love wt and love that touch pad, I use it all the time to strum notes, and have even practiced using it during slide sections (it's more useful then you think if you actually PRACTICE it, instead of just passing it off in favor of what you are used to). I just really want to complete my goal list for gh3 before moving on haha.

However, if anyone wants to co-op or pfo on gh3 or wt on ps3, please hit me up! I loves co-op and pfo more then any solo playing or solo goals! lol

It's been about a year and a half for me, since I first started playing GH2. I play A LOT.

I'm not perfectly happy with my skill, because it seems very inconsistent. I can FC Jordan Solo B on Full Speed, but I can't even get above 85% of Solo C. I can hit the most RIDICULOUS shit on some GH2 and GH3 customs, but on plain GH2 and GH3, on solos and things that seem a lot easier than the customs, I can't hit worth a damn.

My skill progression has also seemingly slowed down a good bit, and I'm worried that if I take any breaks from playing, I'll forget how to play. ><

i got gh2 for christmas 2006, and played a fair bit, beat expert within a few months, then i slowed down... until i joined scorehero, around january, and i really saw a lot of improvement- of course, i started playing for hours a day, too... i have 45 fc's on gh3, and have 5-starred everything outside of ttfaf. i suppose i should be happy, and i am proud of my accomplishments, but i can't help but feel i should be better at this point...

Follow the optimal starpower path except for the bridge 1 activation (add that to the next activation) and learn to tap the intro (or at least 1h the starpower phrases), and you'll prolly 5* it in no time.

I've been playing for about a year, but I've been playing obsessively. For a year. So I'm better than some people who started a year ago, but I dunno how I stack against people who've played the same amount of time. But for a year, I'm pretty satisfied with it.

I played GH2 once at a birthday party of a friend of mine in summer of 2007, and hopped to medium in an hour. Never played it again after that until the GH3 demos started showing up in stores. I got hooked, I rented it a few times and spent indecent amounts of time at local stores with the game on demo. I finally bought the Wii version in January. Attained top 100 Wii rank about a week before GHWT launch. So that's me.

Also, many happy returns

I think i rather suck. On GH3, im ranked 4000-something out of 8000-something. and 50% is a failing grade
also, I cannot get any good FCs on WT.

Well i started mid way through last year, (bought a PS2 and GH1 and 2 in a bundle) it took me about 4 months to get onto Expert and then I bought GH3 and my skill steadily improved. I'm nowhere near being "average" by SH standards but i'm just happy that I can 5* a decent amount of songs on Xpert. Currently practicing Raining Blood and i feel like i'm getting quicker, will start to practice tapping for TTFaF.

I feel I should be better for how much I play...play about 5-6 hours a week. (Work gets in the way) Can go for a whole stint of endless hours at weekends. Still I want to get to a point where FC's are consistent and solos are consistent.

Ugh, ive been playing since GH1 day 1 and i think im pretty decent at the game but definately not better then i think i can be. i make about 650-670 on TTFAF. But i see all these people that are better then me and it makes me angry cause ive been playing for so long. Im just a really competitive person i guess.

I'm happy with how well i've done. I got GH 3 last christmas and really didnt play much more then first 10-15 songs on easy, since i was addicted, and good at, ddr. Finally, around March, my birthday, i took it out again, and have played ever since. What's funny is most of my friends have it, but i'm way better then most(only 2 can play even a few expert, and i think my friend who is best at it hasn't cleared tier 7. But Now that i have beaten Raining Blood on expert, kicked the devils ass in my 5th or 6th try, have 8 fc's and 59 5*'s on gh3, not to mention beating my friends gh2 game he lent me pretty easily, yeah i am definately happy about how well i've done.
