GH5 GHTunes Rivalry (xbox360) Week1

Guitar Hero 5 GHTunes Rivalry

How it works:
Every week, there will be 3 songs posted that you can get of GHTunes (with all the details to make it easy to find). When a week ends, all entrants will be ranked in terms of score and %, and the results will be logged in this OP. And, of course, at that point 3 new songs will be posted up and the whole process goes all over again =D

Wait, what kind of songs will there be?
GHTunes has a lot of different kinds of charts, and this rivalry will try to make a point of that. Expect there to be a fair share of different types of songs in terms of difficulty so that any kind of player can get involved in this

Who picks the charts?
With this just starting, I'll likely be the only person picking out the first week's songs. Of course, if any users are digging the idea of this rivalry, and would like to become more involved (consistently, please), feel free to send me a PM telling me you're interested in selecting some future charts. The more input on this the better, I think, since there are a LOT of songs up to be played, and I'm sure we'd all like to see only high quality songs involved with this.

If you don't want to be consistently involved, but you have a suggestion or even if you'd like one of the songs you made to be involved feel free to send me a PM, or anybody else involved and we'll take it into consideration. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST A SONG, PLEASE DO SO VIA PM. DO NOT POST HERE. Ideally, all upcoming songs are going to be 'secret' until their week comes to be played. Any suggestions for songs in this thread via post will NOT be considered.

Final Details:
I only have XBOX360 at the moment, so I can only manage this rivalry around the 360 console. Of course, if anybody has another system with the capabilities and wants to set up something like this for their system, go for it!

Ideally it will work so that the three songs each week have a lot of differences in terms of sound/gameplay aspects so things don't feel too repetitive (which I don't think will be a problem)

Ideally there will be stuff of all sorts of difficulty each weak. Obviously with only 3 songs you can only get so much in a week, but you know what I mean. Hopefully people who aren't "omgsogood" and people who are will be able to have fun with the songs

Of course, new people can register and hop in whenever they want!

Scoring:
As for right now with the lower amount of people participating, scoring will be pretty simple. To the first place ranked player of each song, they will be awarded 1 point.. So, each week until more people join, a total of 3 points will be given out. Just figured it'd be fun to keep track of over time and such.

Submit scores by posting in this thread. Please make them bold for easier sorting and such (also, it's preferred that you post all your scores in one single post at once if possible.. but it's alright if you go ahead and upload them 1 by 1 too)

And of course, when you submit your scores feel free to say what you thought about the current weeks tracks in terms of sound/fun/difficulty. Right now I'm the only person selecting songs consistently, and I don't know the preferences/skill level of all the people participating and would hate to just post shit nobody likes

I'm interested to see how this would work. I have the 360 as well, so whatever songs you pick are fine with me, I don't download almost anything from GHTunes, so it'll get me to experience some new charts. The only thing I downloaded was the Jordan chart from Firescull. So yeah, I'm in, I think this could be pretty fun.

I'd probably be willing to run something similar for the PS3 if anybody is interested - I probably play GHTunes songs more than the on-disk stuff, so this is perfect for me. If there's any interest I'll start a new thread for it rather than hijack this one.

Yeah, it sort of sucks to think it has to be all broken up like that. I really wish all the systems with the online capability could work around the same GHTunes database, but eh, I guess I understand why it's the way it is.

Hey mog, I'm sorry to have to say this, but I have to drop out of the rivalry. As you might be able to tell from my sig, I've been playing a lot of CoD:MW2 lately, and my GH skills are really suffering because of it. I played through all three songs just now, and failed them in the first thirty seconds each time. I had downloaded VillageofDarkness before and had five-starred it with no problem, so I guess I'm just rusty, but I'm gonna have to drop out of this so I can go get my skills back before playing competitively again.

In an effort to inspire some more entrants, I'll post up scores for the stuff I can get on PS3 (basically anything by the Neversoft developers). Both of these are the scores I got on my first try, and they could at least serve as a reasonable benchmark for those of you actually in the rivalry.

VillageOfDarkness:

The reason for the rather low percentage is because I missed a LOT of the solo through forgetting to strum after missing once

Glowstick Party:
156,904
93%
165NS

This missed the 5* by a pixel, I'll probably play it again. :P

Edit: 174,324 - 94% - 131NS, not bad.

Both songs are pretty difficult (and VERY fun), I dunno about the other one since obviously I can't get a 360 song on my PS3. I'd like to just point out that a song doesn't have to be hard to be good!

In summary: PLAY MORE GHTUNES, PEOPLE :P

Ah thanks, I didn't know they were also available on the PS3. And if somehow you ever get a chance to play God Knows go for it. I think it's my favorite of the three current tracks. I'm still so surprised that something as epic as it was on GHTunes.
