After reading the thread about the GH1 Video "Beta". I just remember the first time I went to Wal-Mart and bought GH2, and remember playing the first song. Remember the First Freebird FC, or when 5 Stars on Cowboys from Hell was legendary.
I posted this on the RB side aswell. Discuss _________________

For me the best Guitar Hero times will always be "ZOMG I beat Bark at the moon on Hard!".. same as saying "that whole learning part", in GH1 going from Easy to 5 staring everything on Expert is the best feeling I ever got from the game until now =p _________________

I've had some fun Rock Band parties, but I don't think I've ever had the same fun as introducing people to GH1. No matter the setlist and features these games get, it cannot match the same feeling as GH1. |

Stuff that sticks out in my mind:
When I couldn't play on hard because of not being able to hit the orange fret.
Beating expert for the first time.
Beating ttfaf for the first time,it was such a big deal back then. |

I started out on Expert, and I was brickwalled at Cult of Personality for awhile, I remember beating that was pretty cool. Same with Lou.
TTFAF, Raining Blood and One were relatively tame, after I realized that you don't actually have to combo HOPOs and you can just flail :P. |

I think one of my better memories was playing the original Guitar Hero at Gencon in 2005 before it had been released. There was no whammy bar on the guitar at the time, and despite them trying to explain star power to me, I had no idea what they were talking about. My very first song I picked Iron Man on Hard and passed it, and they asked me if I wanted to be a tester, but then said I'd have to be living in CA But it was soooo much fun. I never had a chance to play it a second time there since they stopped letting people play after people were too rough with the guitar. Though I remember hearing Take Me Out over and over and over from all the way across the convention hall. |

I remember back when beating Raining Blood on EASY meant you were good.

So many users here have started on GHIII, it's... strange. I suddenly feel old for starting on an earlier game. To me, that quote should go:

I remember 5*ing Cowboys from hell on expert meant you were really good (although I wasnt registered at scorehero at that time, I just looked around as guest.) _________________

lol. being the only person in my school who had even heard of GH was a good thing.
also, renting Rocks the 80s, and staying up with my friend attempting to beat Play With Me. took us each 15 tries. _________________

I'll always associate the GH1 cover of Ziggy Stardust (hell, probably any version of the song) with my early GH days. I had played about twice ever when my friend invited me over to spend the night. He had Guitar Hero (the first one, 2 wasn't out yet) and got me started on a career. I wanted to do Easy, but he pushed me up to Medium. I must have been playing until half past midnight at least, and I got all the way up to the fifth tier without realizing until I got the game for myself how close I was to the end. (My friend was busy reinstalling drivers on his laptop, which is why I was playing for so long.) Then he sat down and ran through Ziggy Stardust on Hard and it blew me away. I'll also always associate Stellar with those times, because I loved playing that song on the Best Buy store demos. |

Did this ever happen? Me, a run of the mill by scorehero standards player, had already beaten all of Gh1 and 2 on expert with 5 stars when GH3 came out... and we all know there were already countless FCs... |
