Woo. Match list is out
Group A
vs Schmegery (Demons)
vs "Austria 1st" (No one to depend on)
vs tG.Torrasque-g0 (Scatterbrain)
vs MetalBerserker (One Big Holiday)
vs rudeism (American Girl)
Can't wait. Well I don't really like long trips, but I'm sure all will be awesome after being there : D Never went to the US, any ideas on what to visit in LA and whatnot?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's being said that Portugal are gonna send someone to LA for this year's WCG, unlike last year.
Well I retired from GH nearly one year ago, barely held a plastic guitar in my hands meanwhile, didn't even get GH5. But I'm getting in the mood to get it and practice the 3 following weeks until the national competition. I probably won't be favorite this time but it would still be fun, either I win or lose. WCG Germany 2008 was awesome, what drives me to go back and try to win is just cause I'd love to have another adventure like that. GOOD TIMES.
Meanwhile I just been trying to get my fingers working again, rusty as hell. SO HAI AGAIN SH, updates shall follow, either with me getting back on GH shape or just going meh over another year I stay in land.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm still wondering if I should delete most of this first post :1 it's way too long and awful to look at.
ANYWAY, haven't touched GH in months, and honestly I'm not missing it. BUT I am playing FoF customs when I'm bored.
Got 762,921 on Black widow of la porte (amazing captLtrl's chart obviously). My old high score wasn't even pass 600k LOL, I used to play FoF on a crap computer, now with a new one it's noticeable the difference.
I plan to do better soon and with vids I just really don't force myself with practice and such.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dueling banjos
370,270
97%
530 NS
Was a pretty good run I think, except I did awful in the ending.
2nd xbl atm
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
All of the everything here in this thread is Expert guitar.
Also, if it matters, I'm a 3 finger player, woot.
With that said...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
THIS IS A CHOKE CURSE after Morello, now FTLOG, which would be my best FC ever (I think).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4tQlMwugX0
I can call it a choke since I used to FC everything but Fast solo (and I did so on the run before this one actually). Fast solo just seemed impossible some time ago but after some practice last night much progress was made.
I only FC the strums in solo A 1/100 times though, so doing this again is gonna take a goddamn while >:
And yeah, first mistake was an easy note I forgot to strum, could I get any more nervous? |: rest was just more weeping than playing.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-3 on the very last chords part. Score wasn't even my highest since I screwed the SP, FC is coming.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This was the latest one. Was just moaning about the chokes I kept getting here back in Master-Tesuch's thread and ended up FCing it after a few tries. Naice!
Also got Stop today which is annoying as hell in the verses, although I love it so.
----------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------
well at least I'm 1st page again olol. Such a tilt activation fag~
haven't been seriously playing much, sort of a break.
Stopped caring about TTFAF btw, can't take the song anymore...
----------------------------------------------------------------
yes finally.
----------------------------------------------------------------
I never miss on the ending spam of Sweet Home Alabama and today choked twice in a row! Solo 3b is easy now, fuck. Then went to Crazy Train and on the 1st try I FC up to the last chorus and miss one chord don't know really how! Jeez... then my 3rd finger started hurting like hell and I had to stop :S back playing now...
Today has been GH hell! That is all *keeps playing*
------------------------------------------------------------------
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipV7io-GQVA
so much choking on the near end of F onwards, I can get 380k or more
--------------------------------------------------------------
surely!
WOAH. Solo F 98% with 3 fingers.
--------------------------------------------------------------
-4 makes me happy since I suck at double-strumming and being near FC is something I wouldnt expect.. but I also wouldnt expect 3 Mr Crowley FCs in a row so......
Score was a crap 475k since I didnt care about SP, but now that I feel I got the hang of the verses (I think the problem was slow strumming for some reason). I'll be trying an FC or something close from now on.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Well.. sort of. And yes, all of them crap scores.
Story is, since my FC 2 days ago I never played the song again. But then I missed those amazing solos and played the song once for fun.. and I FC it! But atleast 2 activations were somewhat delayed and the score was still bellow 392k.
Then I'm lolol omg gonna try again with the SP right to see if I FC it. And yes I did, except after Blizzard of Thoth 6 I was laughing and fapping so much I forgot to activate SP, so my score ended up even worse than the FC before.
And on my 4th consecutive FC try with max concentration I ended up bombing Blizzard of Thoth 6... so its a choke I guess lol.
Oh well so it was 391,879. I think I wont resist on improving it some more, at least 392k which shouldn't be too hard.
edit: got it now, 4th FC and 392,391. 7th place on global, 6th on XBL (if you need proof).
---------------------------------------------------------------
fap fap fap
---------------------------------------------------------------
So I was trying Stillborn for like 15 minutes of solo practice and when I felt good about it tried a real run. And I FC the solo like nothing... so... great? Well I knew my Les Paul's strum wasnt in the best condition and so it overstrummed for no goddamn reason on the chords before the end. Bought a new LES PAUL today for that.. and the stillborn score was "just" 100% FFFFFF
And now when I try to FC it I always miss some random dumb slidey note. Have I mentioned how much I hate those? FFFFFFF
On a better note, 314k on Love Removal Machine.
And also near 500k on Hot for Teacher.. to think I could barely 5 star it until I found a way to do the riff on my 3 fingered style. I can also constantly FC the intro Fingerin' on the post..
---------------------------------------------------------------
FINALLY! Took WAY too long. Speaking of long dropped a long sustain during SP at solo 3 but whatever, I R happy.
Also 331,445 on Satch Boogie, lolz random run, only missed like 3 or 4 notes on D and out of the thrills in x4 solo F could've been better, kept combo while on SP but at the middle of it was too tired and only kept screwing up. 350k is achievable surely.
Love Removal Machine 308,079 is pretty sexy for a random run too, 1 dumb miss on the 1st solo and some more notes on the last one, all goddamn purple notes.

I know you killed the Portegese (Spelling?) competition, but what were your scores? What songs did you play? I guess I want to know how badly you thrashed them. Also, good luck on the Germany tournament! _________________

The final was best out of 5, I won 3-0 on Cliffs of Dover, Nothing for me here and Number of the Beast. A LOT of mistakes but it was the pressure I guess.. don't have the scores sorry.
CoD - Failed the tapping at the start, missed a final tap on solo D and chocked on easy parts atleast twice..
NfmH - LOTS of mistakes on the double strum parts, fortunatelly my oponent didn't do so well either. Solos were almost all FC'd atleast.
NotB - stupid verse chokes, FC'd solo bridge and solo 2.
Then just for the kicks they told us to play TTFAF and the crowd loved it did a hell lot of mistakes (I think the score didn't even reach 600k) but I wasn't really caring at this part. Also showed up on TV and been interviewed by 2 tv channels and some gaming sites.
edit: when I said awesome final I meant about the whole atmosphere.. it as on a stage with lights n all, a lot more epic than whatever I was expecting.. _________________

Looks like you killed them! I love all of the songs you played and you probably creamed all of my high scores even through your mistakes. Great job! And again, good luck in the Germany tournament. Hope they have someone who is more of a challenge for you. _________________

yup, in the final he got 780k on ttfaf, with a bit of a laggy setup and a few hundred people watching, that's pretty amazing, i'll be going as a uk wild card too, but don't expect serious competition from me.
Btw, sounds like it was played on expert there too, heard anything about whether the finals will definitely be played on hard?
Congrats anyway and look forward to seeing you and hopefully a few other SHers there _________________

It was supposed to be hard difficulty, but if both players agreed the difficulty could be turned up to expert. Then after the 1st group stage everyone wanted expert over hard so.. Im expecting on Germany they'll move the game up to expert.
And yeah, I'm just hoping to pick up a few wins there and mostly get to play against the best. Don't really know what to expect since all these top players we usually hear about on scorehero are from 3 or 4 different countries, no idea what quality of players will be challenging for the lots of other nations.. _________________

Cuz France smells.. I know I live here. Only trounament I got to do was at a Fnac (which was poorly handled/managed) and at an anime store. -_- Anyway you can just go check it out. Think that is what I am going to do. |

ah ha nice.. I remember it because it was the 1st time I FC'd cliffs I think. Did 100% sometimes but usually overstrumming my way out of the 1st tapping solo.
It was a good game, you're good.. and I'm awful at NotB :X I downstrum everything and get tired halfway through.. FAIL _________________
