When playing a chain of HOPOs such as this:

after playing the second red, can I anchor yellow before hitting the blue without breaking combo?

I've gone through Jordan Gtr. Solo B a few times on slowest and between the little triplets I frequently break combo (though I'm proud to say I sometimes combo small chunks of it). I was just wondering if this had something to do with it, or if I just need to work on my tapping skills.

As long as you hit the blue after anchoring the yellow, it's not a problem. But if, in anchoring the yellow, you manage to miss the blue, then it's a problem. Anchoring is never an issue, as far as I know.

Yes it is.

You cannot anchor that yellow before you hit the first blue. Once you hit the first blue, THEN you can anchor yellow and everything should be good.

Huh...that's weird. Why can't you anchor before hitting the blue? Is it a timing window issue or what?

I thought that was what was happening. Now just to fix my lazy fingers, I guess.

Just a peculiarity of the engine as far as I know; GH2 simply won't let you hit intermediate "ghost" notes in ascending hammer-on sequences. You can do it in descending sequences, however; a lot of people hit the end of Jordan Solo A by fretting descending quads.

Wow I didn't know that, is there like a guide or sticky somewhere with subtleties of the different game engines?

Jordan Solo B is pretty much the only thing in GH2 that will have you upset by this problem. You either have to hit both the anchored note and the tapped note at the same time, or hit the anchored note after you've hit the tapped note. This will become very painful to remember when you get to Slow and especially FS.

Not sure about any other subtleties. The only reason I know this one is because of my own experience in tapping Jordan. Even more frustrating when you're trying to hit the whole thing with 3 fingers and you really have no substitution lol

I looked around for one for a while before I decided to post this. Couldn't find one. Somebody ought to make something like that.

From my personal experience, I had to tap then anchor. I learned this on TIGRYT.

I had to tap the O then hold blue. After knowing this, I was able to start tapping Jordan
