I assume that this is advanced anyway because I haven't found anything about it.

I am creating a custom game called Guitar Hero: DragonForce using Guitar Hero III for PS2 as the base.

I would like to know how to change the way the game saves so it doesn't mess with my original GHIII scores. I've tried changing the Disc Id in cddvdgen and that didn't work. I tried changing SLUS_216.72 to SLUS_006.66 and editing SYSTEM.CNF in Notepad (this was for a different custom) and that didn't work.

Please, if you know anything or have a link to a thread that can help me, post it! Thanks in advance!

By the way, the DTB editor, is about the equivalent of Queen Bee for gh3.

Can we get some feedback as to if this actually worked or not? The thread I linked was for GH2, but if you read through it you might get some more info.

yeah, i'll post a guide if i figure it out. i'm building a test disc for ghdf to see if all the pics changed and if that works this is my next big step in the game.

so far here's what i speculate:
the file:
MC2_D.IRX in the IOP folder controls how the game saves. I opened it in notepad and just go a bunch of jibberish with a few words. I then tried to open it with the gh2 dtb editor and it said "unknown chunk: some random numbers and letters. I'd try hex editing the file but i have no idea how to do that . so for now, i've extracted the mc.dtb file from gh2 and made the changes from the guide to it and then renamed it as MC2_D.IRX and dropped it in the folder. I hope this works!

OK, cool. Remember to just use some common sense since the directions wouldn't be exactly the same as GH2.

You should invest in a hard drive. You can get IDE hard drives extremely cheap nowadays. I wouldn't buy a used HD though. You would need a network adapter though. I got my HD out of an old Dell PC that I wasn't using.
