|
|
Yes, I know that people have already made topics regarding videos removed from YouTube. However, I believe I have stumbled across a somewhat situation. I just had 2 videos removed not by WMG or UMG, but by "Stage 3 Music." What the fuck? Has anyone experienced problems with this specific company before (and if so, how did you get your videos back, if you got your videos back?)
It's really not a big deal about the two they removed--one was my Sharp Dressed Man (with optimal path) FC that I did in a GH2 custom disc (which I completely don't care about because I have another video of the same FC in GH1 with the same path and everything). The other was my Movin' Out FC (GHA), which I can obviously re-do with little to no effort (and I will when I get the chance).
However, I am worried that I might encounter more problems with this company though, and I have about 550 videos up (most of which are no longer stored on my computer due to the massive amount of space that it takes to store videos), so if anybody knows of any way to "beat" this company, please share. They say that "repeat offenders"'s accounts will be terminated, and I'm sure that they could consider me a "repeat offender" just by finding more of my videos and filing bullshit copyright claims on them.
Important Note: This is not the same as a "dispute." The videos were simply removed. I was given notice that they were removed, but the only thing it says that I'm allowed to do is file a counternotice. However, I'm scared to do this because it says that you can be convicted of perjury if you're "lying," that is, if they decide that you don't have the right to post the video (which we all know is total bullshit anyway, but that won't stop these companies from being assholes about it).
About the "repeat offenders" thing: I just looked in my account status, and it said that 3 strikes terminates your account. Because of the above-mentioned bullshit, I now have 2 strikes.
I fucking hate all of these dumb, ridiculous digital copyright laws that exist today. _________________

Movin Out, I can understand, but Sharp Dressed Man? That was a cover version by Wavegroup. This really is bullshit. |

Oh really? When I did customs of GH1 songs, I just used the original files because it was easier *shrug*. |

Actually, it was the same exact audio from GH1, because I made that particular custom disc (of GH1 songs) by simply getting the files from my GH1 disc. Therefore, both videos have the same audio, which is that of the WaveGroup cover.
Anyway, I have another question: is there any way to "export" my videos from YouTube for posting to a different website? I am considering moving to some little website where I won't have to worry about having videos removed. However, I no longer have the files for most of my videos. Can I somehow download these files back from my YouTube account? _________________

If I were you, I would contact Youtube and ask about them.
I couldn't find anything about them on Wikipedia, and here is their website. Now, I don't wanna sound like a conspiracy theorist, but something about this seems odd. Where did this company come from? Why is there no Wikipedia article for them? Why is there a maximum of 5 Google results for them, one of which appears to be a completely different website from the one to which I linked in the beginning of the paragraph? Why are those websites so shoddily put together, with dull backgrounds and few buttons? This just seems very suspicious to me...
If someone could shed light on them, that'd be nice. _________________

Go to your videos page, every video that doesn't have a copyright claim will have a "download mp4" button on it. _________________

ZZ Top is in the second link under roster at the bottom. But removing the Wavegroup cover is seriously messed up, counterclaim that shit. _________________

Ah, ok. I had NoScript on so I guess I couldn't see that >_>
But yeah, Wavegroup obviously got all the necessary permissions if they were allowed to make and distribute a cover, so I wouldn't stand for that. _________________

not sure why there's not much info out there about this company but they are an american publishing company as opposed to a record company & they send music out to be used in films/advertising, but they work on behalf of certain record label's, but i can't think of which one's, they obviously can't be doing too well if they have time to do this 'cause i don't think many people work there |

Had a few GH:Aerosmith videos permanently removed, three strikes and I'm out, I guess.
They could've just disabled the audio. I'm not sure what that would've hurt, most everyone who has wanted to see these videos has already seen them, and they're shitty runs anyway which people just told me to go play a real guitar or play fake guitar better on anyway, so if I would've gotten an automated e-mail that said "Take your shitty run of Draw The Line and Combination down or your ass is banned LOL," you know, I probably would've done it.
But that's fine. It was fun posting videos on YouTube, especially ones that weren't exactly copyright infringement, but more just my friend and I singing Rock Band songs.
Seems weird that after all the Internet has tried to do for itself, the only thing it has been, is, and will be good for is for porn and ScoreHero.
Fuck's sake. _________________

This has got to end. I'm going to say this now, and hopefully my YT channel will not be nuked when I go back to check on it. They get money, good money for these songs to be in the game. Not only do they get that money, they get their songs popularized by the game (read Wikipedia's sub-article on the general GH page about how the song Cliffs of Dover got 400% more Google searches after being released on GH3), and people go out, and buy CD's, buy MP3s and go to concerts of the bands that they find from GH. Either they want the song distributed or not. The totally stupid thing about this is, there's been Youtube videos of GH songs all the way back to GH1. Why would you put your song in the game, knowing that some kid will put a video of him playing it on YT. I'm not saying that companies shouldn't put their songs in GH, and if any of them are actually reading this post, please don't take it the wrong way. What I'm saying is, either we can't make Youtube videos of GH, and it should be immediately posted on GH/YT website, and then the rules are the rules. But the way it is now, where some songs are safe, and others are not, is like a minefield for those of us that have to pick and choose which videos we make in an attempt to avoid the greedy copyrighting.
Ok, I'm done. |
