I got pretty curious and decided to turn off the crowd noise and band sound so that the only audio coming from the game was from whichever guitar was featured for the notes. Other than the obvious transitions from lead to rhythm or rhythm to lead, it kind of felt like I was listening in on a kick ass jam session rather than playing the same old songs over and over. Another upside is that I think it could eventually help those who have poor timing skills because it forces you to find a rhythm without the aid of a beat. The first song I played was "Heart Full of Black" on Expert and as you may have guessed, I royally screwed up the turbopicking section. It makes me want to try all of the songs like that just so I can work on timing. Will anyone try it? Or if you have, do you agree at all? |

That's pretty interesting. I'll give it a try tonight and see how it is.
I've been needing something new to keep me busy with this game. I play the same old stuff way too much. _________________

I tried that once. I was playing at 2 in the morning (like I'm doing right now), and while playing Godzilla the echo gave me a feeling of playing all alone in a giant empty stadium and it started to freak me out. _________________

i did that a couple times while trying to 100% the breaking wheel. it makes it a lot easier because a lot of times, the band and drums come in before the guitar, making myself think that im wrong. i didn't end up getting it with the band turned off, but it helped me focus on timing a lot more. |

I've been messing with that a bit, and I have to say, Sharp Dressed Man sounds horrible. But it does make me feel a bit less emasculated when I play I Love Rock 'n' Roll or Guitar Hero. And Frankenstein with the guitar off? Well, you'll just have to play it for yourself, but it's an experience. |

oh wow. i just tried it with a couple songs and it really works. esp with solos and strumming. i realized i needed the band sound a bit so i left it at half but the crowd is completely turned off. _________________

I tried it also and its pretty cool. sounds different. started with Killer Queen,Godzilla, Sharp Dressed Man and You got another thing comin'. The verse/chorus aren't that bad but messed up completely the solo. will probably do the setlist on expert once and then return to normal mode. thanks for the tip ;) _________________

What I did once was turned the guitar off. It is much different for somgs like Fat Lip with out a solo because the bass or something has the same notes, but for somgs with solos, it makes it tough. I havn;t tried Frankenstein like Cliff though, I will have to try. |
