well technically you should be able to burn dvd + and - with this. The lightscribe just allows you to inscribe the dvd with the laser as well. So a lightscribe burner can do everything a normal dvd burner can do and then it can inscribe as well. |

lightscribe is, if i got it right since i got one myself, a technique that allows you to "label" the dvd with help from the laser by simply turning the disc upside down in the burner and use a specific kind of software to make a label. It does only support special "lighscribe-DVD's" for this kind of option, but to just burn dvd's it works fine with any kind of dvd. |

I have a LightScribe burner in my laptop, it does everything a normal DVD burner does, and will make the LightScribe labels if you're using LightScribe media. I don't care to wear out the laser so I usually just use normal media and it burns fine.
So, I don't know if the PS2 reads the LightScribe discs (although I don't imagine they're any different on the bottom than a regular DVD) but you could just burn a regular + or - DVD with the LightScribe burner and use that. |
