|
|
first off, please don't delete this.
I know you get a lot of these but I feel mine's specific enough to be worth looking at.
This is what I've figured out:
1. Swap magic works, because it loads the original GH2 disk
2. My media type is correct because I made a backup disk of GH2 without changing anything WHILE using cddvdgen and apache to make the disc. This loads fine in Swap Magic
Also I've tried it on 2 different types of media and both copies load fine
3. when I make ANY changes to the main file with GHex, the game won't load and gives the classic "Not a Valid PS2 Disc"
4. This means that I'm doing something wrong with GHex which I can't imagine happening being that I religiously followed the instructions and everything looks right.
5. I tried the entire process on a different computer and it STILL won't work
6. The PS2 is not moded, that may be important to know, not sure
I don't think the media's the issue being that I made a copy that works perfectly. That would also eliminate the burn speed being wrong. There shouldn't be anything wrong with cddvdgen or apache because once again, the backup works fine. All that leaves is the use of GHex being the only thing that's different. But because I religiously followed the instructions time and again, I have no clue what I'm doing wrong.
please please please help me!!!!
I've worked too long at this not to get an answer
Thanks |

Riz isn't keen on these threads but as long as someone is reading alot and trying hard I don't mind responding.

well i had this problem for a few weeks and one thing i tried was recopying the whole hdr from cd and just replace one of the songs with a song done specifically for gh2(not an mid copied from freetar). Then just remake an iso with that one song changed and see if it works.

possible suggestion from Sottle:
Sottle wrote: |
You burned the ISO as a data file and not as an image (i.e make sure you're choosing "burn DVD Image" or something similar, or using ISO --> Write mode in DVD Decrypter
|
My thoughts:
Try burning at 1x.
Try cleaning the laser on your PS2 (many articles on web on how to do this).

Glad you got it working.
I updated this thread based on your solution. I think some people have been overlooking this answer.

Rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip is what works like a charm from what I've heard...go in circles, then go in circles with the dry end of the Q-tip... _________________

no, a PS2 cannot play burnt ps2 games. You need a modded one or swap magic |

Technically you don't need swap magic. There's a cheaper way. What you wanna do is follow this guide. Codebreaker is $20 in stores or online. Yet although ps2menu is rather confusing, if you open up BADATA_SYSTEM(or something like that) it should bring you to all the .elf files u put on exploit and if you run cdloader then swap the disc to your modded copy it should work. If it says invalid disc then you'll want to clean the lens. |

Not the best choice for a first post here.
1. You updated a topic that ended over 2 months ago. The OP obviously has figured out a solution to his problem by now.
2. If you'd read the the rules announcement at the top of this page, you'd see that we don't discuss modding AT ALL here. (Rule 7)

A DVD Burner and Burning Program. You should not hijack other threads. Alternatively, be sure you are using the up to date guide.
