Anyone have this game for Xbox Live? (Or has played the demo?)
I'm really close to buying it, but I want to know anyone's opinion on buying it for $10... _________________

I don't have it or an Xbox, but UMK3 was pretty fun back in the day. _________________

Wow, it's been a long time since I've played that...
I don't know much about this XBox version, but unless they fixed the horrible AI (fricking stand in one spot, wait for you to attack, and then counter flawlessly everytime... GOD I hated that...) that the original versions had, you won't want it unless you have friends to play against. Other than that, if it's a good port, sure. _________________

Well, Nulien, theres the same crappy AI...but then theres also Online Battles...grrr this is such a hard decision...
Geometry Wars + Paperboy (or a different arcade game) vs UMK3... _________________

I played the hell out of MK Trilogy (Basically UMK3's twin on the N64) back in the day. It was also the last MK I played, because after that the series went 3D and I lost interest. I don't really know why, but after playing the previous 2D side-scrollers, 3D just didn't....fit.
Also, that was about the time I discovered Killer Instinct. But honestly, I don't play fighter games much anymore anyway. |

God I hated UMK3 so bad when I was like 10
On very easy, the first battle would be fine, then the evil AI on your second opponent would just go completely destroy you, then after using a continue, would go back down to very easy. Rinse and repeat.
It was an ok game, but MK Trilogy kick its ass.
Not to be a smartass, but MKT isnt UMK3's twin on the N64, as it was released for ps1.
MKT had EVERY character up to that point playable, and added 2 new ones, chameleon for ps1, and khameleon for N64.
N64 didnt have the bosses playable, IIRC.
God, I wasted so much of my time on learning useless junk.
Overall: a decent buy, SCORPION FTW, if you suck at fighting games steer clear though. _________________

I got this game on Saturday, and I have to say a few things about it...
1) CPU is still dumb, but it's not the same.
It used to be that if you used the same moves over and over, the computer wouldn't catch on until around the 3rd opponent. Well, now it's a lot harder (Still having trouble with the 3x Endurance on the Final Tournement). Opponents catch on almost immediately.
2) The Xbox Controller makes this game difficult for me (and it seems a few others as well). I can pull off almost any move easily in the rest of the versions, but the 360 controller doesn't seem like it wants to respond as well.
3) Online Opponents are hard as hell. Seems like most everyone knows 40-60% combos, and will use them repetitively. There are a lot of people who, like me, are really good with one person, knows thier regular combos, and are very nice matches all around (equal usually).
Gameplay - Awesome as usual, no huge changes really. 9/10
Graphics - It's still 2D, and should stay that way. IMO, they are awesome graphics for thier time though. 8.5 / 10
Sounds - Added a bit more vocal things, tightened up when the voices were made (right when you get punched, your character moans usually). 9/10
Overall - 9 / 10
Pick this game up. It's a steal for $10, whether you have Xbox Live or not. _________________
