Well every night i usually go to bed watching tv, but recently, My brother took my tv into his room, so i had nothing to watch, so I pulled out my Old CD player and Fell asleep to some good Old Chili Peppers.

But I was wondering, What CD/artist do you fall asleep to if you do listen to music when you sleep.

For me, its By the way-Chili Peppers, Colma-Buckethead, In raindows-Radiohead (one of the three)

Well, I used to listen to a range of things until I was about 9 or 10
For a while I listened to ZZ Top.
Then the American Idiot album.
Then Avenged Sevenfold (yes, seriously)
And many others in between.
Now, occasionally, I'll put my iPod on its dock and listen to a shuffle, but now I can't really listen to music at night, just keeps me up.

Hooray, I'm not the only one! I actually use a lot of metal to get to sleep, including (but not limited to,) the following;

Afterlife- Avenged Sevenfold
Prequel To The Sequel- Between Buried and Me
Walk With Me In Hell- Lamb of God
Laid To Rest- Lamb of God
Reality- The BerZerKer (I think that's how you spell it with random caps...)
By Demons Be Driven- Pantera

I also like to sleep to less metally stuff, like Foo Fighters stuff. I think the weirdest song I like to sleep to is probably Telstar by The Tornadoes.

I blast City of Evil at least twice a week. It rocks.

First thing to come to mind from the title.

Buckethead's Colma and Electric Tears on shuffle and loop. Speakers next to my bed, I'm in the clear (without 50,000 points).

Eric Johnson's stuff is pretty relaxing and usually helps me to get to sleep fairly quickly.

Venus Isle is my personal preference.

Really? People listen to metal to go to sleep.

I don't always listen to music when going to sleep, but this is my "Sleepy Time" playlist on my ipod:

Crush - Dave Matthews Band
#41 - Dave Matthews Band
For the Love of God - Steve Vai
Crazy - Seal
Prayer for the Dying - Seal
Crash Into Me - Dave Matthews Band
Clair de Lune - Philadelphia Orchestra
The Blower's Daughter - Damien Rice
One - U2
Face to Face - Siouxsie and the Banshees
Dances With Wolves - John Barry
Building a Mystery - Sarah McLachlan
Daysleeper - R.E.M.
Mad World - Michael Andrews & Gary Jules
Highwayman - Johnny Cash/Kris Kristofferson/Waylon Jennings/Willie Nelson
The John Dunbar Theme - John Barry

Don't mock me for having a Sarah McLachlan song on here. That song is awesome and I got the whole album for 50 cents at Goodwill (I only like that song). Also, it has an f-bomb in it. For real. It's hardcore.

Also Highwayman by the Highwaymen is AWESOME. Youtube it.

Generally instrumental stuff like the softer songs from the Halo and Lord of the Rings soundtracks, and some of the softer stuff of a few of the bands I love: Kamelot, Blind Guardian, and Agalloch.

I agree with Electric Tears and Colma, although the actual song "Colma" scared the shit out of me one time when I was about to fall asleep. The scratching sounds creeped me out.

But anyhow, almost any post-rock is great for falling asleep to. And a lot of Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, etc. Just mellow, chilled-out rock is good.

Probably not impossible, but extreme metal is very stimulating, oftentimes very fast and such, which will more than likely just get you excited.
