As many of you know, savefile.com sucks and purged a majority of their servers' data. Many of the loved charts of the Custom Song Database were hosted here and some of the authors related are now inactive.
I propose that when someone tries to download a chart that is unavailable, they can post a request for it here and if anyone has it they can re-upload it. I'm sure that some people who just joined the custom scene want to experience the famous charts of old that would otherwise be lost to antiquity.
Libraries
People can either upload or screencap their libraries. I'll sift through them every so often and update any red entries, but you might find some gems in them. These will either be .zips, .rars, or pictures.

Although I asked for no broad requests, I feel bad ignoring them so they will be listed here. Since I am usually just linking to the part of the database containing charts by that artist, verify whether a chart is unavailable prior to submitting it. These will only be here if there are a LOT of missing charts of that author.

There are currently 34 single charts found.
There are currently 13 mass request charts found.
There are currently 19 charts lost.

This list will be organized alphabetically and can be used as follows:
If a chart is in red, then someone has expressed a desire for it but it is currently missing.
If a chart is in green, then it has been accounted for and a download link will be supplied.
Charts can either be sent to me and I will host them, or you can host them yourself and supply me with a link. (Preferably Mediafire)
If you put submissions in my format I would probably love you forever.
Also, please don't make general requests like "anything by x band"

i have almost every led zeppelin chart made by dom555 as well as others. if you want you could put ND1310 has majority of Zeppelin charts or something

I'm not sure I feel comfortable basically taking credit for the charts. I suppose I could put the original author's name in the title, but ¯\(°_o)/¯.

No, resubbing to the custom database is a temporary fix to a permanent problem. Plus one wouldn't be able to sort by charter, etc.
I think the only real solution would be an admin sending out a mass email to those who have submitted charts to the custom database, saying "hey guys fix this if you wanna, or they'll be removed." I don't think there's any sort of link verification in the database, so that might be an empty (not to mention purely hypothetical) threat.

about time something like this happened.
It would've been better months ago, but I'm not complaining. 
I have A LOT of old charts on my PC, but I'm not home at the moment,
and I need to figure out what chart is by what author.
I already have them uploaded in a zip on mediafire,
you some others would like to help me do this I could post a link, but only if people would like to help.

Hey all,
Due to my packrat habit of never throwing anything away, I've got something like 4GB of charts/mids that I've downloaded since the beginning of SH. The only problem is that I don't have the author/offset written down for most of them. But if someone wanted to compare them to the database, it could probably fill in some holes.
Let me know what you want me to do (if anything), and I'd be glad to help out!
Oh, and make sure to check out/play Guitar Hairo...

Thrash The Plank, Dracula's Castle, Funky Bookas, and Storm Eagle please. Also, Whole Lotta Rosie is in Rock Band, so you can't post that.
On another note:
I have a whole bunch of charts, not all of which aren't available anymore, but get them in a .zip here. A list will be edited in later. I also saved Kadino's Maverick Medley and Zero charts, and even put together the .oggs. (Maverick Medley's drum sound quality is low, and the Sigma's Ressurection part of the Zero medley is offsync, since I didn't notice the bassline and thought it didn't matter what offset I used for that section, but I'll reassemble the .oggs with less suck sometime.)
