No one in this thread has mentioned The Who: Live at Leeds. I'm simply going to assume that it is just such an amazing live album that it just goes without saying.
Otherwise you all fail, miserably. _________________

soon to be released :
Megadeth - Rust In Peace (Live)
gonna be awesome.
i must also say that Metallica - Live Shit: Binge & Purge is probably my best live album ever. i can listen to this every day and not being tired of it. espcially the 17 mins long Seek & Destroy song hehehe. _________________

lemme think...
The Who - Live at leeds
yea, i really dont think i need to say much about this one. terrific live album by a terrific band
Green day - Bullet in a Bible
another one i dont think i need to say too much about, but, these guys were just born to play live shows, ive seen them twice now and on both occasions they were phenominal, and it really shows on this album, they really tear it up
Paramore - The Final Riot
another band that were born to tear it up at live gigs, paramore put on some of the highest energy shows ive ever seen, they opened for green day back in june (best gig ever, take it from me) and they were absolutely killer. so tight, so high energy, and hayley sounds just as good, if not better live than on the album. the final riot is a good performance of a great live band, but it doesnt quite do as good a job as bullet in a bible and live at leeds do of capturing the live atmosphere, thats my opinion at least. id still definately recommend it though
Metallica - Live, shit, binge, purge
anyone who knows metallica even reasonably well knows that they put on a great live show. they are unbeleivibly tight live. LSBP gives you loads of song choices over a couple of different concerts, which is a blessing and a curse, as i know alot if people prefer just one concert to better capture the live spirit, so be wary of that. if you dont mind though, this is a truly great live album, and id thorougly recommend it.
if i think of anymore good ones, il be back |

Star One's Live on Earth is probably one of the best live albums I've ever heard. Definitely the best live progressive metal album I've heard. |

I thought The Final Riot! was pretty bad... Well, I also think Riot! and Brand New Eyes are terrible so that explains it.
My favorite live album is Live at Benaroya Hall by Pearl Jam. It features mostly songs from Yeild and later, which normally would be a downer if not for the fact that they play almost completely acoustically. It's awesome, just buy it. _________________

If you like long, complex, and creative jam music, check out any of the Live Phish albums from Phish. There's 20 of them, Live Phish 01, Live Phish 02, etc... Filled with tons of Phish classic's along with many a funky jam. |

Some great live albums:
"Gallop Meets the Earth" by Protest the Hero. (It's Protest (and we all know how much ScoreHero loves Protest right?) and it's live. Best of both worlds.
"Our Live Album is Better than Your Live Album" by Reel Big Fish. You really can't go wrong with Reel Big Fish, and their live antics are superb. _________________
