Who's New Zealand's 1st in GH Messi4h? Was expecting it to be you lol, looks like I won't be facing you in the group stage this time. _________________

Dylan Beck aka Rudeism.
Here's our final: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lA2IG4we5xI I hate posting that lol. So epicly close which is why we're both meant to be going. Our organiser's been running around heaps to get it sorted. Hopefully I can make it but both pool B and D look pretty tough. |

Congratulations to Schmegery for winning the US Finals!
Schmegery and vVv Acai28 will be representing the USA in the Grand Finals after an amazing US championship.
US Top Four:
1st: Schmegery
2nd: vVv Acai28
3rd: vVv Andpg09
4th: MoB Shift
Top highlight of the event: vVv Acai28 vs. MoB Shift in the lower bracket. During the match they double FC'd both Scatterbrain and Demons. Insane. _________________

Congrats to Schmegery and Acai. I don't see Smoky's name in the brackets though? I thought he was meant to be in it?
Also Thomas just a couple questions bro:
All these national/pan tournaments seem to be picking SotR before the final. Like they're using it as a tiebreaker to every match. Is that the case for the GF or is it only going to be the tiebreaker in the final match of the tournament?
Are we allowed to use headphones this year? Though I'm not too sure what the community would prefer.
And about the best of 3 for pools etc. The pdf of the rules doesn't say the following games after pools are best of 3 (which I assume they are), so I don't see why you can't just make us play best of 3 in the pools as well. Like I said a match still only take 10-15 minutes, compared to say a CS match which will take at least half an hour. But yeah just trying to keep annoying you I guess lol.
And also outside of pools when it's best of 3 is it gonna be the same as always where both players pick a song each and the last one is randomly generated or all 3 songs will be randomly generated?
And one more thing, can we each get a decent amount of practice before each game. Pretty important to get a feel of the timing window to see how well I can squeeze. I remember in 08 me and Lo7 played like 5 songs before starting lol.
Cheers man, see you in 2 weeks. |

Thanks Jyn for all the updates and the new ruleset.
One thing I still have to bitch about is why do we have to play on the 32" screens. I have to say Guitar Hero 5 and Tekken 6 are probably the 2 games that monitor lag would most affect. 1 frame of lag for either game is bad imo. I don't see why we would have to play on a bigger screen which is guaranteed to give us more lag. I'm sure the Tekken 6 setup will be just like most tournaments where both players get a small screen fed onto both from the xbox. Can't we do that with Guitar Hero 5? Cause I assume there will be bigger screen projected on for the audience to watch anyway.
Wow just looked up the monitor and it's 8ms... I know that doesn't directly relate to how much lag it has but that is just ridiculous. Is this not a professional gaming competition?
Also, are you keen to go to Disneyland cause I am lol. |

super keen! i'm going to disneyland, six flags (better than disneyland i hear), korea town, santa monica, hollywood.. i'm staying until the 12th with two mates from nz lol
screens: last year was soo good, like as close to unnoticable as possible, seriously~ does everyone else agree? don't let it bother you everyone will have the same grief, samsung are the biggest sponsor, in the end it's about the $$ so i have no say/pull there. It'll all work out in the end, it always does ;) i'm flying out next mondayy _________________

8ms won't be noticeable, it's like half of a frame at 60fps. I wouldn't worry about it as I'm sure they know what they're doing down there. At the Canadian nationals we played on screens bigger than 32 inches (42 maybe) and the lag there wasn't a problem. |

Lag was a total non-issue at the US finals too. There was a bit of audio lag on the stage, but there were still Scatterbrain/DWEDFN FCs up there so I can assume it didn't make too much of a difference (I never got to play up there myself). _________________

You should check out Knott's Berry Farm if you get the chance. Not as big of rides as Six Flags, but it's much more accessible. (Six Flags is at least an hour away, in the middle of nowhere. :/) It's also much less crowded than disneyland. _________________
