Nice job on the FCs. You're really plowing through some of these songs like nothing o.O Also, looks like someone took your FotS 1st by 25 points. Albeit, I have no clue who they are and there is no pic or video..... |

It was kind of obvious, it seems pretty unlikely someone could come out of the blue and perform an almost (if not completely) impossible squeezefest on a song like this. _________________

It didn't seem too probable to be fake. To be honest, I wasn't squeezing that hard and I missed a brutally easy 400 point squeeze during the FC run |
Except the big giveaway is that if you FC Fury of the Storm and don't drop any ticks before you hit 4x, then your score for a FC should be an odd number since ticks after you hit 4x (8x under SP) are always going to increase in increments of 4 or 8, and since your score ends in an odd number after hitting 4x, then your score would HAVE to end in an odd number unless you either broke combo or dropped ticks in one of the first two hold notes of the song. Since it's unlikely that someone getting a "world record" score is going to be dropping one of the first two hold notes in the song and since they put it in as an FC, the only possible explanation for that score is that it's a fake score.
Don't believe it? Try it yourself. FC Fury of the Storm until your multiplier reaches 4x without dropping any ticks in the first few hold notes, and then notice that your score from that point on is ALWAYS an odd number until you break combo, even if you drop ticks later in the song since you always drop ticks in a multiple of 4 if you're under 4x.
Or, you can just watch Chris's video and notice that his score is never an even number after he reaches 4x.
There's a mathematical reason why every FC score with proof on that song is an odd number ;) |

Well, there's that OR the fact that he has no proof and no other scores. _________________

To answer your question in the OP... no, the forum's pretty much on it's last legs. But the die-hard GH fans are still keeping the place afloat. Much credit goes to Bushidox for his leadboards in the rivalry section. It's kept the competition going, as well as introducing a lot of players to the lower difficulties. A good portion of the community seems to be focusing more on FC'ing as much of the series (regardless of difficulty) as possible, but a lot are still going for those top scores. Even with the forum grinding to a halt over the last couple of years, the accomplishment forum gets good attention.
Nice to see you back, even if it is just one of those random pop-in/pop-out's. I fondly remember watching your TTFAF FC for the first time, which quickly turned into the second and third times... do you still have that chair? Looked crazy comfy. _________________

Sure, it's not as big as it was, but it's not dead yet. (If it were dead, there's no way I'd have over 8000 posts. >__>)
Seeing people like you returning is a good thing, even if you're not playing all that much. Just showing support for this community by discussing things helps. (If you're after new things to do, RB has a lot left to do, of course. I'm sure you could do a lot of it.) _________________
