If this is good color me interested. I remember loving Tricky (and to a slight bit less of an extent SSX3). SSX Tricky was the first game where scores and performance really mattered to me. Getting 1,000,000 on Elysium Alps was like my greatest accomplishment back then (even though that might now even be good I have no idea hahaha). But ya if this game gets good reviews I'd love to check it out. |

1,000,000 is very impressive. I don't think I've ever hit that number on Tricky. _________________

I got SSX 3 way after On Tour was new so maybe that's why I'm not seeing where you're coming from. If it was advertised as open world then maybe I can understand this argument a bit but I think, especially for a snowboarding game, 30 minutes from top to bottom of only about 60% of the tracks is pretty massive. And if you started at the top of the mountain it was possible to ride down to every track in the game so I think it's fair to call it open-world, even though On Tour was even more so than 3 was. |
I dunno, I just liked the much more closed, straightforward tracks as opposed to the massive mountains they had in SSX3, just a preference. 3 was still awesome. _________________

Yeah but... 3 had both of those. If you wanted big open mountains, do free ride. If you wanted closed tracks, do a race or slopestyle. I think the game is better for doing both of those at once. _________________

It better. I'm hoping to see Griff again. Though not really sure how a 12 year old (IIRC that's how old he was in 3) would fit into the game. _________________

I sure do hope that EA is just trolling us. I'm a huge fan of SSX, and this just looks retarded. _________________

That's obviously not the case. _________________

Always up for a good SSX game. I honestly didn't like SSX3 that much, I was very much into SSX: Tricky at the time though. Oh I could play that games for hours on end. _________________

Tricky was the last great ssx game, ssx3 had too many wormholes for racing and once you figured out how to max your scores in freestyle it just became way too repetitive. It's been forever since I've played those games though and I lost interest after 3. Once they brought ski's into it I just lost respect for the series., but maybe they will make a great game again. _________________

Loving the demo!
It went back to it's roots and dumped a lot of crap that was added post 3.
Feels like a mix between Tricky and 3 which are probably the best one in the series anyway.
Fastest time I got so far is 2:06 but I expect to get under the 2:00 eventually. _________________

18 million and 2:05 are my best so far. I think I like to trick too much to get a really good race :/
Edit: 2:05.53 twice in a row wtf _________________

I have a lot of good memories of Tricky, none of them sober. My friends will be all over this one when it's out. _________________
