There's not much to help you get better (without practice mode) the fun way of actually playing a song. Example here would be something like Ties that Bind X+ is a good mid-high level challenge for helping with kick patterns, plus maybe some other stick techniques. |
Ah, this is my main gripe. Lack of practising. Rolls and just using the pedal in off-beat songs have stopped me from actually getting good at drums (I just jumped in at hard on WT with a shitty set, didn't play them at all until I got the BH kit, still on/off with hat on hard/expert), and when I do play, I tend to play more on RB because of the drum trainer. Unfortunately, playing RB songs with a GH kit is a bit weird, and I'd love to play GH more but there's not much way to practise, and a lack of motivation to do so. No way to train. GH just throws you into the lions, RB equips me with the wooden sword.
I know it's the game with guitar, but as said, Drums are a whole different ball game. Guitar is the same thing as you progress, but harder. Drums tend to vary. _________________

GH5 has to be the best just because of SwiftlySwift's Vadrum GHTunes customs. |

As much fun as the songs in WT are, I hate drumming on it because 50% of the time my star power activation causes an overhit. There are plenty of songs I would've FC'd if star power wasn't so finicky. Otherwise I do enjoy the WT library. |

When I played it on PS2, I didn't have too many problems activating. I played on a RB kit, so SP was activated by hitting Y+B. If there is a Y note charted, you could hit both to activate. I remember reading that in that case, you had to hit one of them slightly before the other (I forget which one though) in order not to have it overhit. If it was a blue note charted, then you had to hit the other one first. _________________

Yeah and the EXTREMELY loose engine isn't that good to learn on. _________________
