1. Which hand strums?
Right
2. What holds the strum bar?
Multiple fingers (Thumb on top, index on bottom)
3. In which direction do you strum?
Alternate. At least I try. When I first got the game (2 days ago) I immediately got into the habit of only strumming down. Now I am practicing alternate. My hands get mixed up...I'll strum down w/ my right hand and my left hand will let off a fret, or just lose track of where it is...argh! I do much better if I strum down only, but will keep practicing alternating.
4. What do you use to strum?
I just kinda grab the thing and go up and down with it. I guess I'd call that arm movement.
5. How well can you play?
Not very well! Had the game for 2 days...I am a successful run of BatM short of beating medium.
6. How do you support your guitar using the strumming hand?
The outside of my hand usually rests on the face.
7. When you whammy does the appendage with which you strum maintain contact with the strum bar?
Yes _________________

1. Which hand strums?
Right
2. What holds the strum bar?
Generally nothing, as I mostly downstrum (hence it's just thumb above the bar), but on the rare occasions I alt. strum, I hold it with a combination of thumb-, index- and middlefinger.
3. In which direction do you strum?
See previous. (Mostly down, sometimes alt.)
4. What do you use to strum?
Also depends on the situation... With thumb, it's just the finger that moves. When ASing, it's wrist movement, and if that tires me (happens usually when playing NOK) I'll use elbow-movement.
5. How well can you play?
"Well" or "Good" or anything better than those aren't a part of my vocabulary. 'Nuff said.
6. How do you support your guitar using the strumming hand?
I don't support the guitar, or rather, I wouldn't call it supporting; My hand just rests against it.
7. When you whammy does the appendage with which you strum maintain contact with the strum bar?
To avoid accidental strumming, no, but it (thumb) is close enough to the bar to play next notes immediately (about 1 cm above the bar). |
