Well, I know what the problem is already. I just figured I'd tell you about it here.
I don't have M$ Office. Not even M$ Works. I build all my own PC's and I don't even dare put that junk on my computers. Blech. I use OpenOffice.org 2.0. When trying to save my spreadsheet, which is filled in, it asks:
"This document may contain formatting or content that cannot be saved in the Microsoft Excel 97/2000/XP file format. Do you want to save the document in the format anyway?"
Of course I click yes, but the site doesn't like that. Says it's corrupt. It must not like OOo 2.0. I've tried saving as:
M$ Excel 97/2000/XP
M$ Excel 95
M$ Excel 5.0
None of them work. Oh wells, I get to do it all by hand. *sigh*
If you need a copy in any format, just tell me. I can provide in the above formats, as well as:
OpenDocument Spreadsheet (.ods)
OpenOffice.org 1.0 Spreadsheet (.sxc)
Data Interchange Format (.dif)
dBASE (.dbf)
StarCalc 5.0, 4.0 or 3.0 (.sdc)
SYLK (.slk)
Pocket Excel (.pxl)
Thanks for reading. |

Make sure you're using the 0.7 version of the spreadsheet. It was put together with OOO so there should not me a problem. Mail me a copy of the sheet you use and I'll take a look at it.

Yes, it's definitely 0.7. I downloaded it last night. It's really a pain having to enter all of your scores on different pages. Wish there was a "batch add" for first-time users. Oh well.
I'm sending over the spreadsheet momentarily. |

I've found this topic when looking for "OpenDocument". Is there any chance you'll be supporting OpenDocument directly in the future? It's.. uh.. open, so I'm guessing it shouldn't be that much of a problem to implement. Much less of a problem than with the ever-changing, secret and proprietary Excel one?
That would show yet another advantage of an open format, and besides, make me and my friends very happy |
