Well, looks like I didn't make it this time. Can't say I'm completely surprised about it, though, because I really only had free time to work on the song on just a single day out of the three available. I also started out at the base skill level of not even being able to FC the song. All other things considered, I'm pretty happy that I was able to at least progress enough with the single six hour monster practice session I did to get an mediocre FC score. It would have been sort of embarrassing if I didn't.
And I'm not surprised that I didn't do so well for that very reason that my only available free time was six consecutive hours on a single day. Good grief, I will never ever do that again. It is such a futile exercise in mental anguish and finger burnout to play a single song over and over again for six straight hours.
I think that I would have done much better if I had only somehow managed to schedule my free time better and distributed that same six hours of practice into six single hour chunks sprinkled evenly across all three days. Looking back at my past leagues in hindsight, its so goddamn obvious that the best way to practice is in small frequent regular doses because whenever I did it seems like I would improve so much faster than when I had longer, less frequent sessions of practice. Lesson learned...I'm going to try and avoid the marathon GH session in future leagues from now on.
I wonder if this holds true for most other people besides me?
Anyways, Congratulations Shock!!! Even if I had organized my practice time better I most likely would not have managed to beat the score you got!!! If you win the league you can wear this championship belt I made for you:

It's a fact in neuropsychology that sleep and to a lesser extent the passage of time helps with memory consolidation, especially motor memory so I would guess that it should be true for everyone.
Ever had that level of Mega Man or whatever game you couldn't beat for hours one night then beat it on the first try the next morning? Just an example, I could go on much longer since I worked in that field (not video games, sigh, but psychology) but I wouldn't want to bore anyone |

Holy crap! I knew it was true, but I didn't know it was fact. And sleep is better during the down time? I'm totally scheduling shorter GH sessions with nap times in between next season! |

Morty, I don't have a score to submit.
I'm sorry if you were looking for competition, but I can assure you I wouldn't have won even if I was trying my best 24/7 these past four days.
I'm happy with making it to the Semis, and good luck in the finals. |

Once again I fell short of my big goal for the round, certain that without it I will lose. I actually started working on my expert scores (only 3 weeks to work on them), but I got F'd in the A by Because It's Midnight, so I gave this one last shot and what do you know... I hit it. Barely. Good luck Keeper, you have a good shot at beating me I think, but at least now I know I did the absolute best that I could.
EDIT: WooOoo!!! \m/ 10th post! (I just don't have a lot to say...) |

Can I borrow that one note you beat me with? I'd like to kill myself with it. |

LOL.wow that's a close call
I didn't expect me to reach the final
Had the margins on my side in the quarter and the semi
Good plays from everybody in the semis, real tight matches.
Good luck to PDPablo
Only 1 song left to play
I don't think I'm gonna play 80's ever again |
