|

So....for those guys out there mapping out optimal star power paths (JCirri and Echelar...for example) .... how many songs have you found to date where you have a different star paths between Hard and Expert?
So far, I have two songs where I changed star usage..and even then, only one of them is a significant change....and that is about it.. Of course, I have about 15 more songs to really dig into...
There are other songs where I purposely play a different star path on expert because I know I will break a combo somewhere...but that is different.
Just curious...my 'strategy' was always to play hard to map out optimal star paths...then when that is done, go on to apply it in expert. I am wondering if my line of thought was correct. _________________

It really depends on the song. I tend to look at each difficulty independently, but if I've already developed a path for one difficulty I'll use it as a starting point and look for differences and adjust the path accordingly (if necessary). Certain songs only have a few differences and only require shifting activations a few beats here and there to get the maximum number of notes under starpower without changing the overall path. However, other songs have completely different note densities such as Breaking Wheel where single notes in Hard are chords in Expert and therefore require developing a totally different path.
So it does help to use the Hard path as a guide, but it's not always best to apply it directly to Expert and assume it's optimal. _________________

JCirri, Echelar, please don't answer that question. Please.
By the way ES, have you turned in a score yet? I'm still working on it and I don't want to feel like I'm dragging down the competition. |

I dunno. It really grinds my gears how you beat my score by 16 freaking points on that song. Maybe I'll post the strategy just to spite you . _________________

So it is. I must have transferred the hating from somewhere else. _________________
