|
|
my whammy bar has been broken for a month or so now, it's limp, so each time i want to use it i have to use two fingers to move it back and forth.
after breaking it i was searching ebay for a new controller, and i noticed a type called the Shredder Guitar.
i was wondering if anyone has one of these or has played with one, and if so is it worth it to spend the 30 bucks or whatever it is on one?
i think i'll end up just waiting for gh2 to come out, maybe they'll have a gh2 controller. |

First - use the search funciton, there have been several threads about or mentioning the shredder.
Second - shredder isn't supposed to be nearly as good as the regular controller.
Third - Your controller is easily fixed - the plastic piece that provided the "springy" resistance is broken, but you can replace it with any stretchy item. I believe a stretchy hair band thing is one of the best household items to put some spring back in your whammy. A rubberband works, but will break fairly soon if you use the guitar alot.
Open up your guitar (several screws on the backside), remove the broken plastic piece near by the whammy bar, and you can loop a hair band thing around some posts right next to the whammy bar and the whammy bar itself to provide the bounce back tension. Re-assemble and voila. _________________

That worked like a charm.. But.. the posts.. where the put the hair band thing.... um.. I didn't really have any.. obvious posts.. so .. I just made it work.. and I tested it out, sure enough, worked perfectly.. but... In my ... glory.. I accidently.. pushed the whammy bar down too hard.. and the hair thing kinda.. fell... so .. I am just going to take it apart again.. but thanks again. Worked great.
Edit--- well.. after attempting to de-assemble the controller.. I accidently killed one of the screw heads on the guitar.. so ..now I can't open it unless I break it so.. It's really no biggy.. I've been playing the way it is for months.. so.. it's not going to change anything.. got an extra anyone.. |

yeah i saw the cherry ones, didn't tickle my fancy.
i would have searched around, but it's easiest and quickest to just ask.
if one question was only able to be asked once in the lifetime of the universe, well, then that universe is very boring. >=P
i understand how it is to see the same questions over and over, but i haven't been in these forums that long and i don't have the time of day to be searching them. so forgive me and the future people that ask the samethings that have been asked many times. =P
also thanks for the tips to fix my axe, i'll tend to it tomorrow. |
