quick question...

for most songs (which don't have a bass track done for coop), is it safe to just set the bass track to "Silence" in GHEx when importing an mp3, so as not to multiply the volume or create distrortion/overlapping needlessly (since the "Band" track is already playing in the back anyways), or is it necessary for it to be populated to work properly?

i beg to differ; this question isn't about GHEx functionality or features, it's about a technicality related to custom songs in GH2... it's partially related to GHEx, but only because GHEx is the only current program (as far as i know, at least the most popular) that people use to import songs.

my question applies to GHEx as well as any other program that would allow importing songs into GH2, therefore it isn't related merely to GHEx in itself, but to any method of importing sound files.

It is, still, however, in the wrong forum. Songs themselves, and commentary on them, in here. Technical discussions, out there. Moving.

Riz.

Yes, it is safe to set it to Silence.
As long as the band channels (0/1) are assigned, you will hear the song.
If only 0/1 are assigned, you can whammy your little heart out without there being any distortion.

odd.. there seems to be a chorus effect even when i'm NOT whammying... it seems it might be caused by there being more than one channel playing (band + guitar) which are identical..

i guess there's no real way to fix this without there being no sound at all playing when you miss notes (band chan only)...

meh. whatever. i don't care. all i know is i'm just glad to be able to get my ass handed to me by dragonforce and warmen songs

Or you could leave the guitar channel empty and put all the sound in the band channel?
