Not covers but Helloween released an album recently that features several of their songs in different genres.
Dr. Stein is Jazzy, and there is a 17-Minute Epic titled "The Keeper's Trilogy" Which is an orchestral mix of Halloween, Keeper of the Seven Keys, and The King for a 1000 Years.
Its awesome.

Um, duh?

And also this: the Social Distortion cover of Ring of Fire, originally by the Man in Black.

Classically trained pianist plays System of a Down's Toxicity.

She has plenty other hard rock/heavy metal covers. Practically every Metallica song, Raining Blood, you get the idea.

Between The Buried and Me covering Metallica's "Blackened"

I mean...Metallica is metal but I classify them as heavy rock more, and obviously BTBAM is heavier so...

This is an amazing cover. At first I didn't like it, but it kinda grew on me and now I actually like it better than the original. Sorry, Metallica.

Diamonds And Rust, original artist Joan Baez, was covered by Judas Priest on their 1977 album 'Sin After Sin'. The live version off 'Unleashed In The East' is imo even better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OHJP1BSVgM

That song has all of those songs in it. It's a medley of those songs in polka form.
