Has anyone else been listening to this band? Personally, it's not the stuff I usually listen to a lot, but wow, I'm honestly blown away by them. I heard Gold, Guns, Girls on the radio for the first time the other, decided to go deeper into their music, and I'm really impressed. Emily Haines has this really enchanting voice and the music in the background compliments it REALLY well.
Some of their better songs, for those that haven't listened to them before:

I listen to Gold Guns Girls nearly every day when I run. Emily's voice is amazing and an absolutely perfect fit for the band. _________________

They played my city three times last year. Got to see them twice- always excellent. GGG got way overplayed onthe radio, just like Help, I'm Alive and Gimmie Sympathy. All of Fantasies is quite good, though. Definitely check out Poster of a Girl and Monster Hospital from Live it out and Combat Baby from old world underground. _________________

I really like this band, I'm getting more into them. I first heard Combat Baby and it became one of my favorite songs in RB3, then I watched Scott Pilgrim and really liked the song that "The Clash at Demonhead" played on stage in the movie (Black Sheep), so I decided to listen to more.
Right now I've only really listened to Old World Underground, but this band definitely fits right in the middle of the realm of music that is my favorite (and female fronted, to boot).
I think one of my favorites besides Combat Baby is the song "Succexy." Something about the groovy guitar/bass thing during the verses is catchy to me. _________________

Did Help, I'm Alive really get overplayed that much on the radio? I agree about GGG, ever since I noticed it, I've been hearing it get a ridiculous about of airtime, but for the former, I never really hear it much around here, so idk. =/ _________________

The day Fantasies came out i woke up to that song and had a new love for Metric. then, two weeks later, I couldent hear it anymore. Too much radio play. They stopped like six months ago, however. i still can't enjoy that song.
On a Metric related note- I just found this band called 'Emily Haines and the Soft Skeletons' Definitely check them out. I can't really recommend songs or describe their sound because i first heard them an hour ago. Metric-esque lyrics, though. _________________

Yeah they come on my Metric station on Pandora a lot....really good from what I've heard, but like you, I haven't heard enough to really describe why I like them D=
Regardless, it has Emily Haines in it, so it MUST be good amirite? <3 _________________

You simply can't talk about Metric without talking about Monster Hospital. _________________

I saw them live about five years ago - didn't really know them but my girlfriend at the time was a big fan so I tagged along. Glad I did, they were really good. I think the only album I've got to this day is Old World Underground etc and a random mp3 of Monster Hospital... it's weird that I haven't expanded from that, particularly since RB3 reminded me of just how much I love Combat Baby.
Also, agreeing with Hailz: Succexy is certainly my most played Metric song. _________________

Its great to see them get some International exposure (same with Tegan and Sara) from RB. I have oved them for a long time (they are always on the radio here in Canada, tlhus there home and such)
For me Gold Guns Girls is their best song closely followed by Dead Disco and Grow Up and Blow Away. _________________
