My journey to becoming great at Guitar Hero. Come and take a look around this accomplishment thread and tell me what you think. All FC's are at the bottom of this post, along with pictures where available.
23/07/11 -
I forgot to add the picture last night, but I will make sure to do it tonight, along with my new Rio FC pic.
Got it 2nd try today, after Sax Solo 1B stopped being a div. Now all that's left is YMCA and IHITTG. The latter can go screw itself, but YMCA is really doing my head in right now. The slider sections are really unfair in this song. And there's only so many times you can listen to the song before you want to kill a baby.
22/07/11 -
Wow, I haven't played in a few days... Anyway, I recently bought GH5 and Band Hero again, and I'm not playing GH5 because I can't hit a damn thing for some reason. But, I've played Band Hero and FC'd I Want You To Want Me after 2 tries, so that was cool. Tried to FC Rio, and choked right at the end, and after 5 more attempts kept screwing up in Sax Solo 1B. The strumming is very simple, so I'm just annoyed at that song. YMCA and I Heard It Through My Grapevine are part of my final 3 FC's and then I'll have FC'd the whole game on Guitar. Better get to it then.

Thank you for the kind words. This kind of encouragement is what will help me more than anything.
I chose Painkiller as my first "FC Goal" because I can FC it all except for the fast strumming right before the solo where goes R, Y, B in quick succession. The solo I'm fine with, so I'm going to get to work on it tonight.
I'm getting closer with Spanish Fly too, though I'm not great at hitting all of it before the sliders. I can barely hit any of the sliders, and on a bad day I will fail right there.
I do feel awkward having this kind of accomplishment thread between a ton of awesome accomplishments. _________________

I was actually going to suggest you make an accomplishment thread while reading your other thread, nice to see you already did.
I will definitely be keeping an eye on your progress- if you're motivated to get good, it will happen. You'll see improvement again, but then there will be more periods of stagnation. It happens. As long as you keep playing and keep setting goals for yourself, you will get better. So it looks like you're off to a good start. _________________

What JLeggy and Alex said If you can keep on setting goals and keep trying and trying over and oooover again ... then improvement will eventually happen !
Oh and there's no awkwardness to feel when posting your accs in here ^^ the more people, the more fcs, the better =P |

Basically what arvain, alex, and jleggy said before, keep going at your goals and you'll get them (no matter how much they piss you off )
Anyways, 5* on TTFAF and the ability to go for the Painkiller FC is already a tremendous start. 620k, Mosh 1 FC, Spanish Fly 5* and the Painkiller FC will come soon, just keep going for it.
Oh and the trolls (I of which am using it to help you possibly) against those who play GH use this, but also look into getting a real guitar if you can afford it. I started using it to help better my GH playing, as well as using my GH playing to better my real guitar skills. They co-exist with one another and I found very helpful when I started getting into the higher caliber things. _________________

Thank you all for the support and encouragement.
I did actually buy a real guitar a few months back; an Ibanez GRG 170DX Left Handed and I love it, but I haven't played in a while due to my amp being a piece of crap cheap thing that sounds horrible and doesn't make you want to keep playing the guitar. So I haven't really touched it for a couple of weeks.
I'm so close to a Painkiller FC but I keep missing 1 note in the strumming right before the 2nd solo. _________________

Bump for "update".
Still working hard at my goals. I take time off of them if I start to get really frustrated, so as not to lose heart. _________________

If you get frustrated, you could always try putting a path on a few easier songs
You can find everything up to GH3 and GHA on slowhero.moto-coda.org, and all the new games on rubydanger.com (you have to make an account to see the paths on there but its worth it ) _________________

Sometimes the pathhero paths are better. Idk, I just find that the rubydanger paths can often be... less than accurate. :p _________________

I like Path Hero, though they don't seem to have charts for some of the songs.
Unless, I'm doing it wrong... _________________

I remember using one years ago, when GHA was the most recent GH, and it was really good. I think it may have gone now, because the person who owned it couldn't afford to renew the domain or something.
I'll be using paths again soon, as I keep leaving them and going for the FC's with my own (very bad) paths that I make up as I go along. _________________

I just Fc'd Freya! I'm really proud of that, considering that to hit the trills in Solo 1, I had to elbow strum; something I have never had to do before.
I want to thank you all for your continued support in me, and I've noticed my views are going up (I refuse to believe that it's probably just me updating my thread...). It's nice to know that even though I'm not the greatest around here, people are still interested in this young fellow. _________________

No, you're not doing it wrong, it's just that because all the paths are user inputted, sometimes no one has submitted a path for a certain chart. Seriously, you want to use rubydanger, they're correct 95% of the time, although sometimes they can be tweaked for easier squeezes and whatnot |
Yeah this is probably just being biased to me preferring to test and tweak the generated paths rather than look at user-submitted ones..since people sometimes don't really calculate lengths correctly on pathhero
Also nice job on Freya! I remember that song being a bitch to FC. btw, do you think you could post your FC totals for each game in the OP? Then maybe we can all give you suggestions on what to go for next and such _________________
